Quick question for those that have installed bales of needles.
I know how much im going to charge but I need a ball park figure on how long
it should take. 50 small shrubs and 4 trees the rest is open beds.

5-7 minutes a bail around plants, and about 3 minutes a bail wide open.

We calculate around 12 to 15 bales an hour, but it all depends on how far you have to move them to get started, the quality of the pine straw, how many plants you have to work around, if you have to stuff the pine straw into the curb, bed edging, etc
It is a little bit dangerous to set a price without knowing exactly how long it will take, but market forces sometimes require that it is done this way. For a reference, we pay from $3.50 to $4.15 per bale and charge $8.75. This includes a quick stick cleanup prior to applying the pine straw. Bed edging is extra.

I'd price by the day: 1 day, 2 guys. No matter how long it will take; the day is shot and not much else can be done--

We usually figure 3-4 minutes a bale including "blow tucking" with backpacks and cleanup.
150 bales in not too bad a job.
