Is it possible to rip out a thin grass like rye when running double blades?

Anythings possible.
If the grass hasn't rooted in good I guess you could. Doubles is creating a lot of suction under the deck, try using double gators if your not already, they would'nt suck as much.

I agree with Mr. Homer ;)
You could also slow the rpms down in the new seedling areas, or take the doubles off temporarily until the grass gets established.

Are you running doubles on your lawnboy? I would think turning with a 21" would mess it up worse if you scuff it with a wheel.

I have run double gators on my JD 60" deck, and the suction is not overwhelming like it is with a dixie blade on the bottom and a gator on top, but the 2 gator setup does not seem to mow quite as well. Have found out that with the dixie-gator set-up the deck mows the best the pedal to the metal.

To answer your question,
Yes!
Take off the extra blade and let the roots grow a bit more.
