I looking to get a new trailer for next year wondering if i should get a 7 foot or 8 foot wide trailer. The trailer will be 16 foot long just not sure on the width. Next year will be the first year that i will be doing landscaping full time for myself. I am looking to fit at least a 62" ride on and 36" walk behind.
Anyone with suggestions?

I would go with the full width. It is definitely nice to have and easy to get used to pulling it. Much more practical if you are going to be carrying different size equipment/materials.

I have been considering the saem thing. I think 8 is too big because I drive through some tight spaces. My boss has some trouble with the tiny backroads now and I believe his is only 6 or 6 1/2 feet wide. I am planning on buying a new enclosed trailer in the spring and I am thinking about going with 7. A 60 in ztr will fits so why would you need 8? Do they make a 7.5? I am also looking for a 16 foot long enclosed, what prices did you find? Lark makes one new for $4k but they might be a piece of crap.

8' is not to wide. any good driver can drive them thru anything. ive got mine in plenty of places alot of people said i couldnt. it definately comes in handy if you ever get a second walk behind. you can fit them side by side and the z behind em.

From what you said and your equipment list I would go w a smaller trailer, save some money on gas. Next year we will probably reach the 4.00 a gallon mark. Unless you eventually end up buying two trailers one for storage and one for every day use I would go smaller, but it all depends on the type of business your doing, landscaping etc or just mow and blow.

I got a 7'x16' enclosed and a 44" mower I think a 62 would be a tight fit, at least go with an 8 ft. Full width is 8.5ft by the way!

Yeah I saw a new Lark trailer on Ebay for around $3500 plus tax and all. Does anyone have any experience with these trailers?

[QUOTE=Johnson LCO;2067154]Of the 2 choices you mentioned up above, I would go with the 7 foot wide due to the width and narrow road considerations !!

I've got a 6x12 open trailer at the moment. I tow a 61" Bobcat ZTR on it with room to spare. I might be getting a larger trailer for next year but I think I'll stick with a 7x16 d/a open or maybe an 8x20 enclosed.

Go with the 8 footer. The extra foot won't kill ya and you will only benefit w/the versatility you will get for now and down the road.

8 feet. My crew runs 7's and they curse me every day cuz they can't fit anything extra in there
