I ruined a rearend on a 1988 Dakota by not checking the fluid levels when I changed the oil. I used it to tow a 19' boat and usually put it in brackish water. My first indication of a problem was when I thought someone ran into me from the rear at a stop sign. That's what it felt like, someone bumping me lightly. It was around $1500 back in '90 to replace the ring and pinion gears. Check your fluid levels. Tony
PS I have an '07 classic with 4.10 so let me know if there's a problem, thanks.

Describe your truck. Would it happen to be a long bed crew cab?

You might be feeling the limited slip in the truck if you have one. If you have a little more weight on one side of the truck the one wheel maybe grabbing better than the other.
