That seems a bit high to me, I can get an S130 for that price here in Canada.

Are you related to the mob by any chance, you seem to be buying new stuff left, right and center.

Wow, they must think highly of those S100's. Your dealer must not know how things roll, don't you have like 8 Bobcat machines? You'd think they'd cut you a break, I'd be shopping around, it's obvious they don't value your business if they can't do better than that. I don't feel that price is everything, service is everything, but seriously, you'd think they could cut you a deal since you've spent a few bucks with them.

bobcat ron that had to be the most lame thing i have ever heard. people from canada think everyone from new york is that way lol i just have tons of work and use every bit of equipment i have. yes it did seem high 23,600 got him down to 21,250 with some extras:usflag:

bobcat_ron

$21,250 is more like it.

mrsops
12-27-2007, 06:16 PM
yeah they did drop alot i think 21,250 is a fair price and there giving me a spare tire and rim and a back bumper for my machine. $500 in extras

cat2
12-27-2007, 06:20 PM
yeah that sounds better

mrsops
12-27-2007, 06:26 PM
yeah the s100 is a big improvement from the 553. i think 21,250 is a good number maybe ill try to get them to wipe that 250 out as well lol

Ouch, I never have bought a Bobcat machine but last year I could get a brand new Deere 320 skid steer for around $24,000-25,000.00. Granted it did not have a cab/heat but still it is a way bigger machine.

mrsops
12-27-2007, 08:19 PM
yeah then add 2,000 for cab and heat so your at 27,000. i need the s100 for 4' wide areas i have the bigger machines to do the bigger work

I think Bobcat charges a premium on the S100 because it doesn't really have any competition.

Even so, that seems like a steep price. However, if there's no room to negotiate (any Thomas dealers still operating in your area? How much was the RC-30?), you're kinda between a rock and a hard place.

mrsops
12-27-2007, 08:50 PM
rc 30 was 22,000.. yeah your right about the s100 having a set price because there is nothing that really compares to it. i mean they did go from 23,600 to 21,250 with some extras so they are helping on the price

i just have tons of work and use every bit of equipment i have.

send some of that down here...we have never been this slow...every company around here is going into winter "lay-off" mode...actually one of the largest site contractors in the area/east coast just sold 40-some pieces of equipment just to cover their overhead

I think New holland still makes a very small machine. If I was not on dial up I would look it up.

They should -- the L120 and L125 -- but their presence is practically negligible compared to Bobcat's 553. Not to mention NH dealers that sell the L120 or L125 probably do so in ag and not so much construction.

mrsops

new holland does make a small machine its equivlant to the 463, not the s100

Yea .... but did they ever fix their cabs, dust keeps coming in. I here the NH cabs are completly air tight, I was actually in one at the dealer when I took my skid to get serviced, I think its even beter than the Cat:D

Anyway did you ever find out how to put your link to your equipment pictures in you singiture?

Hehe... I'd like to see that comparison. :) I'd put up a Cat C-series cab over an NH any day -- even with the refinements that NH made to its new, option cab.

Alright you go up to the "quick links" in the green tool bar, ( above the eXmark banner) click the down arrow, and as you scroll down the list of things to chose from, you'll come across "edit signiture" click on that, then you'll be at the edit signiture page , so then you copy and paste the links in your signiture. Good luck.

Hey fellas, read the thread. I know nothing about skid steers, other than the fact I need one. I dont need the best of the best, just a good one that will last a long time with proper maintenance (I am picky about my maintenance).

I need something that will:

Load up trucks with mulch and salt.
Bring mulch from truck to mulch beds and etc.
Remove old Mulch and Old Rocks.
Remove sod from lawns (small lawns)
Carry an occasional pallet of sod or bricks (not often at all, maybe once a month when necessary)
Remove VBox/dump insert from trucks.
If possible plow snow.
Pull sprinkler pipe if they make that attachment.

If I could get something where I wouldn't need a heavy equipment trailer that'd be great, but not necessary.

if you guys think I should start a new thread let me know, I DO NOT want to hijack this thread. Thanks Fellas.

I'd start a new thread, just so guys can know what you need. A little more info would help too.

Do you want new or used?
What price range?
How heavy of a machine (you'll need at least a skid loader trailer)?
Any limitations on width?
Do you want 2-Speed?
Do you want a cab?
What kind of controls do you prefer?

If you want a basic older machine, I'd go with a Case 1845C (open cab machine). They are very reliable, no frills/no BS machine. They won't unload a full pallet of sod/pavers off of a flatbed though, but they can raise them up a couple of feet to move them around. A solid one can be had for 10K.

If you want something newer, I'd go with the XT Series Case... all are available with cabs with AC/heat to my knowledge, and are available in several sizes.

If you want new I would go with a 300 Series Deere, or 400 Series Case.

These are just my opinions, it really comes down to your want/need. The older Case machines are available with only H pattern controls (I prefer). There are a ton of choices, a lot comes down to personal preference.

You go to the page that you want to use as a link, and where you type the address to lawnsite is where you need to copy and paste, do that but make sure you have www. and .com or it won't be a hyberlink......good luck
