IMHO ..I would up it to at least one million.....For most commercial around here ...they require proof of at least that much.

it may depend on what type of commercial you do. mine require it with proof but never told me a min. $ amount to have. i have 500k. find a broker that offers ERIE INSURANCE.

1 million is $40/month. Well worth it when you think about what can go wrong out there and the insane awards being given.

State Farm only will give you liability if you buy a whole policy, Which is Equip.theft and liability. I think they called it a landscapers something or other? Does this seem to be the normal or can you just get the liability. And I know you need the equip. theft just wanted to know!

State Farm won't insure LCO's in NY, period. But, my agent at SF gave me a refferal, and I found a guy from "Farm Family" that is really great. He specializes in the green industries. My county requires 1 mil liability regardless. With applications, it's just short of $1000 a year here. 830+130.

Yeah, everything in NY costs twice as much as anywhere else.... except maybe Mass.
