Thanks for all of the comments!

I love the truck, and have about fourteen miles on it all ready. I nameed it today, "Big White". Pretty korny, but i like it!

As far as lettering, I plan on lettering up the back window with big letters, and the two extended cab windows with small lettering, and maybe something on the tailgate as well. But i'm not sure, being I will add an enclosed trailer soon and it will be fully lettered.

I can't wait until I get a plow installed on this vehicle; it should push snow like theres nothing there.

Thanks!

The truck was very dirty from last night (very muddy around here) so being it was about 65 out today (not to mention the current tornado warning) so I washed her and cleaned the interior.

Heres a picture I though was cool. The storm was just rolling in, and it was getting dark.

Enjoy!

That's because it's a CHEVY :weightlifter::weightlifter:

But I plan on putting a Western or Boss V-Plow on it in the future. It has the 4:10 gear ratio, not sure of the actual transmission in the vehicle.

I have the same truck, except reg. cab. The trans is a 4L80E with the autotrac transfer case....if it is push button 4x4. Make sure that thing has the VYU plow prep package. If you open the glovebox, there is a series of build codes in there. Look for VYU. If it has it, then that thing is just ready for a plow. My truck has the exact same miles, 107k. We had a foot of snow last week and the truck pushed every bit of it with ease. My plow is 7.5 foot poly with wings, so about 9.5 ft. And it weighs 800lbs, but the truck only squats 3/4 of an inch. It is probably an LS, which is power everything except power seats and no leather. The truck looks great and if you have any q's about it, feel free to pm me or e-mail me.

Had the truck for about three weeks now. Its a gas lover, I'll tell you that! I got a Cobra CB an got it mounted, just need to get an antenna and thats ready to go! No commercial plates, it's registered as a "B" truck around here.

looks good mitch, my first vehicle when i was 15 wasnt anything close to what you have. All i got was a Jeep CJ7 that i dropped a Z28 camaro motor in :D

i now have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 with the cummins and a 6 spd manual behind it.

Ive been a chevy man at heart my whole life, owning my jeep that i put a chevy engine into, then owning a corvette stingray, now i have a chevy truck that i drag race and show so i still have chevy in my blood. I bought the cummins but it came wrapped in a dodge.....OH WELL!

I love the thing, I got my driver's permit about a month ago, and driving that thing just makes my world go round! I especially love the exhaust when accelerating in town (get some funny looks, and ALL the rednecks love it). It tows my trailer great, and being able to throw crap in the bed is something I've never been able to do. Also, my CB radio is a ton of fun to talk on! If your ever running through Central Illinois, listen in for Big White. I'm normally on channel nine or nineteen. Over and out.

Just for kicks, I am comparing my brothers little S-10 vs. Big White (My baby)

Yes, in Illinois, we have rednecks.

Mileage, eh, its decent. About 10 MPG with loaded trailer/grass in back, and about 11-12 MPG doodling around town, no trailer. I had it up to 13 MPG on the highway a little while ago.

No, I agree with Lawn Enforcer. A white truck gradually turns tan, but still looks pretty decent without being washed often. A dark vehicle shows scratches and every speck of dust. My brother used to have a dark blue F150 and it was really hard to keep clean. We both have white trucks (and my dad too) now and hardly ever wash them. When we do, it makes a big difference, but they don't look that dirty if we don't wash them for a few weeks. That's really good since water is a precious commodity. I can even let my truck sit out during a hard rain and it will look good, but a black truck would show spots really bad.

I only have one magnet now, the rest blew off the truck while driving, and I wasn't able to find them. I'll keep it, though. No sense in throwing it away.

Shouldn't have been testing out the speed of the 6 liter:nono:

Dreamspaces, I noticed the plastic ring thing around the tailgate latch is gone on your truck, you can get a new one for around $20 at your local Chevy dealer, I know because I broke it getting it off when the tailgate latch broke inside on our truck. I heard it was quite common, for the latch to break inside. Has it happened to you yet?

Dude, as soon as mine broke on my 02 I noticed EVERY gm work truck is missing it. My friend's 1500 that he uses for work, another friend's 3500 dually, all the Clintar trucks in my area, etc. My uncle's gorgeous 07 CC SB D/A classic is one of the few with it still on.

Mitch, what are you looking at for a plow? I'm going to buy a friend's 04 3500HD dually diesel with a 8'6" MVP+ and a PRO FLO 2 salter. The pro flo's are a BEAST for a tailgate salter.

Funny you mention that. Yes it has broken. You basically have to use a little more effort to open the tailgate, its on my list of things to fix.

I would go get a new cover, but next year I'm going all chrome. Gas cap, door handles, tailgate cover, etc. all going to be chrome.

nice truck

Thank you

Proboably going to go simple to start out with.

I may not even plow with the white truck. I would really really like to get an older work truck (95-2000 Chevy or Ford 3/4 Ton) regular cab, long bed and make that my strict work truck. Throw a dump insert in it eventually, and keep my white truck as my personal vehicle (not exactly the greatest vehicle for fuel mileage), also the white truck will be there if I need an extra truck or if the work truck breaks.

I would like to get a Western 8' Plow and a Snow-Ex tailgate spreader. Start off simple, advance as I need to.

Forgot to add, the white truck will be the backup plow truck as well. Whatever plow mount that goes on the work truck (Ultra Mount or Uni-Mount) I will throw that same mount on the white truck along with a controller and such. That way if the work truck goes down at 2 A.M. and I have school that morning, I can unhook the plow, bring in the white truck and keep on plowing:cool2::)

I'll keep my eye out for an extra plow as well (used of course)

Thats the plan.... I think it will work well.

Mitch,

That’s a really good idea; I'm looking to do the same this year.....if not definitely by the year after. I hate using the dodge for work, its already got a ton of small dents and scratches and the inside could use a really good cleaning.

Honestly, I think it is a good idea as well.

I have found a few trucks in the $4-7k range, in good condition. Some even already had plows.

My truck has 115k miles, and I really want it to last for a long time. So any mileage I can save means a lot.

Also, there were a few times this past season where two trucks would have come in handy. Mulch/landscaping jobs, aerating, etc.

yah there a really nice 2000 GMC 2500 here with a 8' fisher and under 70k on it for $7500. I'm trying to wait until spring to buy....I dont need another truck but it would be nice......few other things I need to get though first and I want to see how the economy turns out.

PH you mean? Nope, its actually just a CC LB dually pick up. It already has a 5th wheel installed so it can tow 16,500# with the 5er so i'm going to get a BIG dump trailer and use that. Also looking for a Dingo for all my small res work. Next year will be good man, I'm working on my first 6-figure hardscape job. It makes me feel like :weightlifter: but makes my head go :dizzy:. LOL

Keeping it until June when I graduate HS. In July when I'm full time I'll get the 04

You should put dual antannas on your CB and have one on each side of the tool box.
