The 1987-91 F-series Has got to be my favorrite truck.
I miss my 1988 F350 to be honest so bad but Im going to look hard for one.
It would be a dream come true to find a truck like this one near me.
Edit: I perfer Ext Cab over Crew cab. Crew cab is just to big for where i live

They started with that body style 21 years ago. They get old and wear out like everything else.

Personally I liked the 92 to 96 style better.

sad but true. after an instructor at the training school does an evaluation and see how much retraining Im going to need. Im going to get a good truck driving job and restore or find a 1987-1991 Ford F250 4x4 Ext cab perfect or almost perfect. but that down the road first I got to get a job.

They are getting hard to find. There are a few around here, but they are all beaten to heck and back. That one you posted is the nicest one I've seen in a very long time. I'd be all over that for the price if I had a need for it.

sadly its been two years since my first training. so i have to be retrain.
I still have my class A CDL which Ive got to renew in Feb.
most company require if you been out of a semi more then 12 months you have to be retrained. The test Im going to get at school will tell me how much I need to relearn. I hope to find somthing Local so maybe I could start a small LCO. But I'll take what I can get

They call those year trucks the "Brick" Fords they are shaped like a brick

I had one a 88 the truck was okay a little ugly but it did the job. Ford went from the 1980s with a square shaped truck to 88 to the more square shaped truck with those big flat headlights.

I like the 92-97 body style but after going to a "Superduty" I like the extra room of the bigger cab its nice. The new 08s are okay but man is the front end ugly.

no you dont need one of those trucks...you need one like the beginning of this thread, and put a cummins in it!!! that way you got the quality of a ford, with the cummins power!

That first one being supposedly not plugged in at -20 is crap I think. My truck will start down to -25 without being plugged in, but it smokes like a steam engine until you get some heat into it. Sounds like it's hitting on 3 cylinders too.

the truck mentioned in the original post is very nice. be even nicer with an idi diesel in it. they don't get much respect but for a hard working engine they are suprising. and super cheap to maintain. i have a '94 F-350 idi w/ about 250,000 miles. don't use it much lately but can't bring myself to sell it. i am a GM type but have to give the old ford credit where its due. again nice truck.

Its just like my 91 except mines 2wd and an f150. I drive the f150 more than the 06 f350 it seems, unless im pulilng a lot the old truck get the drivin time :)

The trucks almost got 198k on it, original 5.0L v8 engine, trans rebuilt at 154k, almost flawless but not, 90% overall condition even towing a lot, still gets ~12mpg around town and 14-15ish on highway

My father owned mine since new so it was well maintained. I wouldnt buy another, just because it would be soooo old of a truck for the business, most are beat to crap but i see TONs around central NJ still kickin.

Heres a bad phone picture of mine, but i have it online already, this was from late 04 though, so the truck has all my vinyl on it, ill find those later. The bumper is bent in the corner from an old bike rack hanging down that got bent on the road and was removed, just never got it bent back. Paint still is in 80% good shape, chipps off easy though so doesnt have much longer, im sure ill need a repainting in a few years.

I wish I could buy. but im stuck with chevy 6.5 turbo diesel until I pay it off then Im going to look for a ford or dodge diesel. Im really a big fan of the cummins diesel but the ford would have to moded to have a cummins I would have to find a place to do it which there are places to do it
A 1991 ford f250 or 350 Ext cab or crew cab with 4x4 And Cummins B series diesel WOULD BE THE PERFECT TRUCK IMO
