i use mobil oil in everything i use and my best friend works at roush on the cat car and they use mobile oil ahe work for petty enterprise they use mobile and he worked on dale's number 3 and they use moblie, i saw a car drive from fayettville to moorsvile about 150-200 miles on a blown head gasket and the oil never broke down!
I use mobile 5000 mile synthetic and always will on everything i own.
thats my opinion

I use mobil one on everything. I used regular oil for the first 50 hours then switched over after the first service

swear by it... drove back from NY to NH with a leaking intake manifold gasket(dident relize it till we were back) towing a 28 foot camper:hammerhead:, the only thing that saved the motor was running mobil 1 :weightlifter:

Not to start riot here but Mobil 1 in the standard grades is decent but nothing to get too excited about when compared to other well rated synthetic oils. However . . . . their "High Mileage" versions of the 10w-30 & 10w40 are showing really great results on www.boibistheoilguy.com in the used oil analysis section.

Also their 15w-50 has higher levels of the anti wear additive ZDDP than many of the other oils in their line up due to some loop hole due to viscosity etc.

I also am a big fan of Shell Rotella 5w-40 synthetic. Works great in most any gas or diesel engine on the planet.

what are the big problems with the aviation version?

A few years ago, there was a Mobil 1 for aviation piston engines using AVGas 100LL (low lead).
The short story is the oil could not handle well the lead in the gas and it resulted in many catastrophic engine failures.
Needless to say, the oil was more expensive than almost every other aviation oils and although Mobil claimed it was superior to the others, it ended damaging most engines it was used in.
From a company as big as Mobil, this type of oversight is unacceptable.
No Mobil 1 for me, thanks. :nono:

That was a few years back. No A.D. just a law suit against Mobil. I think Mobil 1 aviation was removed from the shelves. Can't remember the details.

Used to fly some rotary a while back. Lots of fun...
Got an engine failure at 200 ft. in a Bell-47, no fun, was on the ground pretty fast... ;)

I run it in all my mowers (after a break in period with regular) and in all my cars.

So what weight are you running in your machines? To reply to the topic, no Castrol conventional in my equip. and Castrol Syntec in my cars. Mobil is having problems getting their product in the stores right now. PITA when my full time job is changing oil!
