View Full Version : Is running Hydro in reverse all day bad?

We are cutting all lawns in reverse due to leaf mulching. Wondering if running the hydraulics in reverse for 7-8 hrs per day is detrimental or causes additional wear to the system? Thanks.

Also, do you think there is a way of switching Exmark ECS controls so you squeeze to go forward & release for reverse. This would save forearm wear & tear for reverse cutting.

No, it shouldn't make any difference forward to reverse. I use my encore on leaves in reverse alot to get them ground up better.

Nobody has the technical expertise to answer this question?
Is running in reverse all day, 7-8 hours hard on the hydraulics?
Of coarse not dumb question!
Please pick one.

No. The answer is no. It's just like running in forward for miles and miles.

The only thing you'll hurt is your forearm's and your neck! :)

Get a couple sets of Gator blades. They'er alittle bit expensive but it sure beats looking over your shoulder all day, does one heck of a job on leafs. As far as running in reverse all day, hydros make no distinction between forward and reverse.
