Hey gang thought you might like to see some pics of my Dad's new truck.
Just for the record he's a general contractor not a landscaper. He owns his own business too and that's his trailer.
2008 Ford F-250 4x4 Lariat Super Crew 6.4L Power Stroke Diesel. "Loaded to the gills"
Fisher Extreme V plow is going on it soon.

Nice trucks I think I like the trailer even more. Do you remember how much your dad paid for the lettering of his trailer, thing is super nice.

I think it was between 1k - 2k. I'd have to ask him and could let you know. He designed the logos and layout. He didn't do the actual lettering though.

I think i might agree. These days looks seem to matter most to many people.

From the shot of the interior, it looks like it has a factory GPS unit. Have you or your dad tried it out? How well does it work?

Is the grill connected to the hood? What happens if you get into an accident? Do you have to replace the whole hood?

I quess I'm old school, but I really like the looks of the front ends of the older f-250 & 350's like the 2000-2005 years. Mind is 2001, but I am looking for a "new" used 350. thanks for all the pic's, it's fun to look at them.

yeh its hard to beat that 99-04 and 05-07 body styles. but this new truck is still like it, just a diff front end! and interior...and tail lights, and back window..ha! i remember when the 99's came out, i saw a crew cab short bed, and went gross!! they ruined the truck!! then i kpet seein em and seein em, and bam! loved em! ended up with a 99 crew cab long bed in 02! that was hands down my favorite truck ive ever owned! and of course i still see it around here...i put a leveling kit and 35's on it. it looked perfect! then he has to go and put a 6 inch lift on it, and leaves the 35's on it!!! it looks so ******ed! and he put a white tint band, and white windshield wipers!! so mad at him. im goin to get that truck back one day and fix it! sorry for the rant...:waving:

Yep we've used it and it very nice. Works just as good as most GPS systems.
What did he pay?
44k i'm pretty sure after trade in and discounts.

Yes and you can replace just the grill. its not one peice.

You bet! The Ram took it ok but it really wasn't matched well at all. The Dodge was actually mine for a few months until i got my Ford and i sold it to my father.
ha! i bet that looked funny...thats a pretty big trailer!
Yes it looked funny. That trailer is a tank and is very heavy. My truck can pull it too!

1st pic shows the Dodge with the trailer empty when the enclosed trailer was purchase from the dealer in the fall of '06.
2nd shows the Dodge hooked up to my little trailer which it pulled a few times
3rd is the old '87 Toyota that my Dad owned before i got my Dodge to pull his new trailer. That was sold in June last year.
Last 2 show my truck pulling the construction trailer yesterday because Dad's truck was in the shop getting a remote starter, alarm and backup video camera installed.

In this picture the trailer did have weight in it because we were helping my uncle move some things. I have more of the Dodge pulled the trailer after it was lettered and loaded with tools but i'd have to find them.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________
I paid $7500 for the Dodge which i bought in the fall of '06 so we had for a little more than a year. It had a little under 50k on it and when it was traded for the '08 Super Duty it had 55K+ and the dealer took it for $6500.

Yes he's done quite well i'd say and his hard work paid off. Most of the business this past year was from a huge residential renovation and addition. There are some pics of it on a thread somewhere here about landscape construction.
He's been in this line of work since the '80's with his brother and working for others. This past year he decided to make the plunge and continue on solo so he bought the trailer, set it up, loaded to the top with tools, sold the Toyota, bought the Dodge and now got a Ford. He says he never dreamed he would have this truck at the end of the year but he needed a write off.

This week i took the light bar off because it broke and stopped working during the 1st storm. I took the dump insert out because it was getting too rusty and i didn't need it during the winter. The lettering looked tacky so i removed it. the step tube was roughted out so i finished take it off also. I'm getting all new Whelen LED's and 6 head hide-a-ways tomorrow as well as new headlights, tail lights and grille for my truck installed.

If only that blade would fit on my truck:drinkup:
Fisher changed all the wiring, plugs and other things so i don't think it would work on a truck thats outfitted for a straight blade.
