I was just about in dire need for some new tires on the truck (this is my "personal truck") But I also wanted bigger tires, eventually (soon) going to add 2-3 inches of lift to the truck... So I got tires that will work well with the lift. Plus a lot nicer set of wheels to go with them!
Wheels are American Racing 16" x 9" wide.
Tires are 285/75R16.
Actually looks better in person... The kinda turned out odd looking (to me anyway) off the camera. Like I said, also needs a little lift to complete the look.

Here's what was on it, Actually in excellent condition, the wheels that is, the tires are pretty much shot...

I think I only got about 20K, or maybe less, out of those Toyos! They don't usually like to throw out a mileage rating for truck tires like those... But I think expecting 40K would be a little far fetched...

I might... But my buddy said I need to put them back on for winter so the salt dosn't mess up the new ones :dizzy:
So what was the point in spending $1400 if I'm going to put the old bald tires back on??? :hammerhead:
I got CHROME wheels because they should be the MOST resistant to stuff like that... Only drawback to them I see is that they need to be CLEAN to really look good. But that's what windex is for, lol.

i've got a good 15k on my dunlop AT rover tires, they are load range E and have some nice tread to them, so far they look almost new.

I got about 40K on a set of Load E General's that are still on my half ton but its time for some new ones. I just don't like the fact with my dodge if your front alignment is off a little bit it will eat your tires up like crazy.
But I feel like trying something new. Only really need a Load C or D for a half ton. Was looking at either Cooper, or BF Goodrich.

the new wheels on the truck? yeah, pretty positive. Not sure how you could even see the width from the angles I took the photos from...

Looks good, Yeah I just put some 33"s on my 2500 last month. Are you going with a leveling kit or a lift kit on yours?

Well, I'm torn between options... I really only want 2 to 3 inches of lift, and no "level", I hate trucks that sit level.. Put 50 pounds in the back and they are instantaly dragging ass.
I think I'm just going to go with a body lift kit from Performance Accessories. They have some really nice kits. I just don't want to get into a suspension lift for a couple inches. Also need new shocks and want to get a programmer "chip". Ahhh, there's always mods to pump money into!

I'm going on 10k, with no rotations, and they still look like brand new.

The amount of mileage you guys are getting is ridiculous. I have two one tons and a 3/4 ton truck that all have BFGoodrich E load range tires and I always get at least 55K plus out of the tires. On my personal truck an 07 F350 I have 62K on the BFG's and I pulled a loaded cattle trailer around the farm, in the mud with no problem. I know the tires are almost twice as much as the competitors but they deliver. I'm getting off my soapbox now!:)

Well we did notice the tires, my buddy liked those. Was too cold to pay attention to much else, lol.
I wanted to go with 305's or so, but when I bought the tires I was still up in the air about doing any lift at all. I don't think the 285's will look bad with the 3" body lift at all though.
Did you still have to trim any of the front bumper at all? Also, do you have mud flaps on the front? I had to loose the flaps on mine, they cought on the tire when turning. From the way it looks, even with the body 3" higher, there still would be some clearance issues... Those chevy/GMC trucks with the rectangular fenderwells are a pita.

i dont have any rubbing issues with mine at all, i was debating going to a 315 actually, but since i have a plow on here i didnt do it. the body lift install wasnt bad, when you get it, spend the money on the gap guards though, looks terrible without them. also when i put my plow mount on with the body lift i didnt have to cut the bumper at all like you normally would have too, so that right there saved me the cost of new bumper. i dont have any mud flaps at all on mine, although i will be putting some in the rear to protect the trailers. the reason you have turning issues is because you went to a new aftermarket rim with a different backspacing.
