I would put the logo up on top either centered or on left side of page

Personally this line makes me think of one of those cheesy ads on TV. "so don't wait, act now" kinda thing. I like a more personal feel like, Now accepting and renewing clients for 2008. It says basically the same thing in a more toned down way and also makes it look like you have a bunch of clients already and that anybody new better get in there quick. Anyway just one more opinion.:canadaflag:

What is the special rate? I would be skeptical if I got this flyer thinking the guy is just going to mark his prices up 10% before I get the 10% discount.

Well, duh! That's what you do. There is no such thing as something for free or a discount. It's all built into the price of the job.
Don't get me wrong, you can give someone a "good" deal, as long as you make up for it some other way.

I would leave your logo at the bottom of the page too. you want something that catches their eye at the top of the page. check out this.....http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/kuraoka/flyer.htm

Exactly. I was recently testing this while flipping through one of my Turf mags. Nearly all the big companies that are able to hire someone to market for them put something catchy at the top and their name / logo is usually suprisingly small somewhere at the bottom.
Imitate "the big boys".

it only makes sense, people read from top to bottom. if they currently have a lawn service when they first see: 10-E Lawn Care. They will not continue to read, but if they see Free Lawn Care it might make them keep reading and if they see something they like they will see your number and make the call. Free Lawn Care prob. isn't the best heading, they would figure its some kind of scheme or theres some catch.

maybe, act now and save XX $
or .. spend time with your family not with your yard !

that website i posted has a lot of great tips for all kinds of advertising.

Looks like the same flyer I see in my mailbox...........all the time. Try to be different. Ask yourself, "Why call this guy over the guy who put a flyer in my box yesterday?"

Maybe a little bit TMI with all the job information. Try to compress your description; you want to be able to get as much info into as few words as possible. Try to tell someone why they should hire YOU over anybody else. Overall, I did think it was a pretty decent layout for a brochure.

What's the deal with the logo ?

your NOT trying to advertise your logo.....your trying to advertise your services....

in advertising, the public is stupid, they have to Be told what to do and when to do it.

and in most cases they have to be told 3 times....

call xxx-xxx-xxxx
call xxx-xxx-xxxx
call xxx-xxx-xxxx

CAll NOW... at these prices it wont last long.

I feel that a good looking logo is what catches someones attention. Just my opinion

I use to use full page flyers and put them on doors. (By the way you can be fined heavily for placing anything on or around a mail box). I swithched to door hangers with less info and began receiving more calls than with the full page flyers. I used my logo at the top and it was large. My services were simple. Full service lawn maintenance. Full service landscape management. Install and design. Full service leaf work and snow removal. Etc. With my phone # large at the bottom. Simple turned out better. Luckily I don't have to do fliers any more.
