Now why do you want to go and embarrass us like this, by asking us to post our own properties -LOL!!!

Everyone knows that ours is always the last one done because we are too busy working to do it. Actually I contract mine out.

Gawd only knows theres nothing like the mailman going for a walk on his day off -LOL!!!

I'm guilty like kris. To busy on my own clients and don't spend enough on mine. I do have to say it's usualy the greenest lawn during the winter time and late summer.

Ray, now why did you have to make me admit that i"m not the perfect grounds manager.

I hire mine out too. can't stand to see labor going out on my stuff

Mine is very small and I HATE having stripes on it. ;)

10-26-2001, 12:47 AM
Here's mine....Small property as well.

10-26-2001, 12:55 AM
Dang Eric, that is small!!

Here is a photo of my "natural area", this area is so beautiful in the spring. Laid sod to make the paths thru the area and have been planting a assortment of flowers since.

10-26-2001, 02:03 AM
Ray have you considered either a natural stone type bench or chair so that you have a meditation area for those nice sunny mornings/evenings when you can enjoy the ambiance of your labor???

I like the sod for footpath idea. Makes for comfy walking as my daughters say -LOL!!!

10-26-2001, 02:13 AM
LOL Kris. Just to the left of the photo above is my swing I built a few years ago., it's covered with jasmine but you can see it in this photo. :D

I'm gonna wait til my rye and fescue pops up before I take any. I want mine to be green just like yours Papa Kirby.

You got a nice looking place and you have my applause for maintaining it as well as you do.................just don't know when you find the time!

10-26-2001, 04:42 AM
Well, if you insist:

Maybe so, Homer. Here's a pic of ours ... and we rent! But we work on it ourselves.

We just got our landlady to have it painted. The white is now a blue and the bricks have become a white/offwhite trim. Looks good, believe it or not! (I didn't think it would.)

We'll be redoing the flower bed sometime and turning it into a shrub bed, firepower nandinas and gardenias.

Here's a view of mine.

Well it's certainly not green. But when you drag home every weed seed that your customers have and drop them all over your yard this is what you get. Actually the only "weed" I have is crabgrass but it is proving to be very hard to get rid of. And that's why the grass isn't green.
<img src="http://members.aol.com/richardmartin/house1.jpg">

And here's a shot from the other way. That's my shop on the right hand side of the house. It's accessable from the rear via a 6 foot double door.
<img src="http://members.aol.com/richardmartin/house2.jpg">

10-26-2001, 06:51 PM
Richard, if you are dragging weed seeds from your customers home to yours, that means you are also carring them from customer-to-customer. Try blowing your deck off at each job site, therefore you leave the weed seeds from that lawn there, and you don't spread them into all of your lawns.

As for the crabgrass, that is the easist weed to control. This Feb get Dimension from Lesco, look at the transition area's coastal plan, do split applications in Feb and April, hit any other crabgrass with MSMA early and Drive late summer, control is simple using that plan. As you can see my lawn has not a single blade of crabgrass with Dimension only, I did not need MSMA or Drive this year.

Picture taken in August 2001. It was rather dry here at the time; lawn stayed decently green considering the weather.

i had a digital camera for the last day and i took some pics of the lawn and i went out with the mower and laid down some stripes. i know this is a dumb Question but how do i get the pics from the disk to this reply? i know this was gone over in a recent post i think by jodi but i cant find it in the forum or search. i just want to show them off and see what u all think

10-27-2001, 02:15 AM
Just copy them to your hard drive, then when you post here the "attach file" option will be at the bottom near the submit button, click that, find them on your hard drive and that will give us a link to them. That help?

10-27-2001, 04:19 AM
Well i tried to attach the file but couldnt really figure out how to do that b/c my file would never show up. Anyway here is some work that i did this summer to my parents house, but have to admit the back yard is where all the crap gets shoved.

Tripod does not allow remote file loading, so the pic will not show up. Click this link then the file "singlrs 1.1" that will load the photo. -Ray

And to everyone that has posted, looks nice:)

How long has your house been on the market?

10-27-2001, 04:05 PM
Here's the front of my house with my rig:

and here's the back. Yes it is flooded and has been for some time. ALot of rain does that.

10-27-2001, 04:55 PM
Grasschopper, I LOVE the flags on the trailer, that is awesome. I can't believe I've never seen that, it's really cool.

You got to be kidding me. I moved in July 2000. I did not Aerate, Fertilize or Seed last year. This year I aerated about three weeks ago and have not had a chance to put down Fert or Seed. I have been so busy on everyone elseís lawn. My wife threatens to hire someone to take care of it about every week. My lawn has a beautiful stand of soon to be dead crab grass. I hope to aerate it again on Monday and Fert and Seed. You'll have to wait till next year for the pics. I have got to get into shape. I am kind of ashamed of it being in the business I am in.

Oh well, I will get there eventually. If not I may have to hire Kirby to take care of it. His lawn looks great.

Is my puter broke or are you other members seeing a bunch of X's for Captdevo's pictures? I even see an X in his signature too. :(

Edited by Eric ELM 10-28-01
captdevo asked me to delete his 3 posts and he is going to repost them since he has moved his pictures to a new location.

10-27-2001, 09:25 PM
And I was beginning to think that Cin had removed the adult features from our system-LOL!!!

Yeah Eric, there are nothing but x'ed out slots for his posted visuals here as well. Glad to see Im not the only one -LOL!!!

Kris :D

10-27-2001, 09:40 PM
I think most people have seen this at one time or another.Hope my rye grass takes off.

10-27-2001, 09:43 PM
Oh come on now Eric! You mean to tell me you can't see any of CaptDevo's pics? You just have to think hard enough and you will be able to see Dave's black dog, the big rock in the middle of the yard, and the smaller rocks around the fence. ;)

Btw Dave, the yard looks good.

I can see them now. :)

I edited his posts and copied the link and looked at them. After doing this to all 3 pictures, they now show up in the posts. I guess if I edited his profile, I could see his picture in his signature too.

I wonder why it won't show up any other way on my puter? I guess I must have something set wrong, but all the other pictures show up fine.

BTW, Nice lawn :)

10-31-2001, 06:06 PM
Hey I just got done mowing mine last night. Here is the front lawn. I finished it around 5pm.

10-31-2001, 06:07 PM
I did the area by the gardens around 2pm.

10-31-2001, 06:08 PM
and i did the side lawn around 7 am

10-31-2001, 06:09 PM
opps here's the side lawn. damn lawn takes forever, glad I don't have to rake it.

10-31-2001, 10:39 PM
That's one heck of a house, Summit. And how ever do you get Tulips to pop up in the fall?

10-31-2001, 11:47 PM
finally learned how to post pics heres a before striping pic of the lawn. it had grubs and armyworns a few weeks back even tho it had been treated. it gets direct sun all day and no water but it came up nice.

10-31-2001, 11:49 PM
heres me doing the striping with the worst mower i have owned. it has low lifts on it and it still has massive blowout in the front. i am not a happy operator. even on a lawn like mine, i still get covered with grass leaves etc, imagine what happens on a thin lawn or dead lawn.

10-31-2001, 11:50 PM
ok this is it heres the finished job, just love the camera haha

11-01-2001, 03:48 PM
Dland...What is that thing you got stuck to the side of your mower? I don't believe I have ever seen one of them there contraptions? LOL

Bad Joke...Sorry
