seems i have to be right next to the car for my doors to unlock. somethimes i have to press it a couple of times to get it to unlock the doors.
i checked the batteries in the remote and they have full power.

Itís the bottom you press with your thumb that is tired or dirt some remotes are sealed

Use a pencil eraser to clean all contacts:drinkup:

Radio remote type unit. Not likely an "eye", as that would mean it would have to have direct line of site to it.

so i cleaned the remote again.
it seems to work good when the remote is warm. the remote doesn't work when it's cold.
so you think it's the batteries? i checked them on a battery tester on the 3v setting the needle was well into the good side(checked them when batteries were warm)

It's the battery. Any time mine have ever done that, it has always been the battery. Change it and it will work like new.

I have had problems with remotes on TV's, VCR's, keypads on police scanners, and the like. They use some sort of capacitor embedded in the membrane of the soft plastic in the keypad itself and after time will simply start failing.
Might be easier to order a new unit for your vehicle.
