No, cut them down.

nah, just kidding. have you ever seen bushes this tall? I think you would have to go to the upstairs apartment just to trim them.

As long as your running synthetic oil through your truck, I think you can do it. You might want to put some 93 octane in it that day also. lol :weightlifter:

i figured if i get a long enough chain i could get a real good head start.

No it won't pull them out.

As far as trimming them, rent a man-lift and trim them. The customer has to pay for the rental and the cost of trimming.

Don't waste your time trying to pull them out, if you have to cut them down. Do that and then grind out the stumps and till the area to get the little roots out.

Don't forget to get the utilities located before attempting to yank those guys out. The roots are bound to be wrapped around a gas line or the water main.

100' of logging chain, good running start, new sidewalk, new utility lines/pipes, maybe a new window or two. Sounds like a great afternoon.

I'm also going to wait until the snow melts so I get optimum traction.

A ladder will work just fine. We do bushes twice as tall as these all the time maybe even three times.

Do not pull those out with chains...you may cause damage to the concrete or to underground utilities...If they must be removed, as mentioned, cut them down and grind the stumps.

Saw he was JK but made me think of last summer. A guy got a yard I used to do next door to another. I was cutting it and he drove up and started yanking bushes out with his truck. Id never seen that done before and started BSn with him. He got to the one by the water hose and I told him to be careful."Nah Ive done this a bunch of times".There went the water line and water everywhere..When I left the old lady was really reaming him out.I have the account again lol.

but the bushes were about half that size. I would have cut it down with the chain saw but I was by my self that day and thought it was a bright idea! needless to say my 3/4 to Dodge diesel pulled 4 of them out with ease but after words I had to replace a sprinkler line and 5 heads! Wont be doing that again!

If trimming, 12' orchard pruning ladder & extended shears will do the job. If removing, cut down to about 4', do some manual digging & chopping of roots, then you could use a skid steerw/ chain to lif/pull out stump, or maybe get lucky w/ a truck, but if using a truck, go w/ a strap. Always leave a fair amount above ground to use as a lever, but remember, some manual digging is necessary.

Talking about whether it would be possible to pull out those trees with a truck, my guess would be yes, in low-term 4wd. But I don't think it would be a good idea.
Better just cut it down to 3 or 4 ft, strip all the branches off and then dig it out.
A backhoe or mini excavator might be ideal if the trees weren't so near the house.

Before you do any removal though HAVE THE UTILITIES MARKED!
Even if you dig by hand.

I guess everyone needs to read all the post, HE IS JUST KIDDING!! I would hope that someone is not that stupid to think you can do that with a Dodge Dakota. But maybe if you have a Geo Prizm that might work.

No dakota could pull them out, not even a ram I imagine not.

you pull these out, and you are risking a HIGH potential for structural damage. They are just a little to close for the size for comfort. I would cut and grind.

I would use a scooter if I were you. Kinda like "Hot Rod's Scooter"---but put some chains on the tires so you get optimum grip.

Wow that is too big for my 79 f150 or my work's 96 f350 dump truck.

I would say need F800 or L9000 to pull that.

I can't image by try pull with my big tractor it would wheelie pop if get good traction.

Did you get bush out? dig out or cut it?

since were on the topic of pulling stuff out... do you think my chevy 2500 could pull this out ? http://www.erikhenne.com/images/Springbreak%20California%20%20giant%20tree%20car%20hole%20drive%20througha.JPG

i am thinking with a little running start, and it already has some damage to the bottom so it should be simple, Right?

If your dodge won't, I have a friend with a Golden Retriever that can help you out. One day he just tied his dog Alex to a bush by his front porch. Went out toget Alex and all he had was a hole in the ground and it was a sizeable bush. Alex and the bush were gone he had to go hunt them down with Alex still pulling the bush around.
