what are you going to need 75 yards of black mulch for? Did you get a big job or something?

Its for a few jobs that are requring it this year. We are getting alot of work out in Altoona and Greensburg, they seem to be using it alot more instead of brown. Cant blame them as it seems to stay nice all year? We normally go threw around 175-225 yards of double ground mulch in any given year. Double ground we always purchase right from the mill. Black is hard to find wholesale. I did find one out in Harrisburg and Pittsburgh. Transporting is the problem though, they will probably want a good chunk of change to haul.

Send me a PM, as I can give you the name of a large wholesale supplier here in State College. Altoona is only 45 minutes away, Greensburg however the trucking costs may out weigh the final price...

Is western PA really that far behind? We even have brown dyed mulch to hold the brown color longer.

If you have the space at your shop I'd recommend getting a whole trailer (about 110 yards) If no one else has it, you could have niche

hey john z!

We have room for about 100 yards of mulch at our shop, but however about 10 miles away we have an entire i dunno 40000 sq ft of lot that we can stock pile on, we have been using that lot for a few years. However they do sell black mulch around here but I am trying to find out of course where they get it from.

They won't charge you to much to have it hauled from out around Pittsburgh you should be able to get a load hauled up for around 1,800. If you are getting alot or work in altoona and greensburgh area, aren't you are going to need something to haul the mulch to those areas on?

You can check with Martin Mulch Products 717-733-1602 or
A.H. Reiff Landscape supplies 717-766-2050. Martin will more than likely travel for larger loads. Martin as far as I know is wholesale only.

No, not to worried about hauling. It is the product I am worried about. Lowest I am finding so far is $31.50 yard

I understand where you're coming from, but the point behind that was the truckers hauling the mulch know where to get the best deals and possible other sources for you.
