I was speaking with an industry insider yesterday, and he told me "lesco" spreaders are now being made in China? Hmmm Anyone else hear that?

I got word from a fert rep that in our governments infinite wisdom in trying to even out the trade deficit, they've shipped a butt load of potash to China. Everyone knows the law of supply and demand by now....result My MOP has gone up $3/ bag in just over a week. Gotta Luv It!

COMMIE CHINA??? Jim must be rolling in his grave (again). Is nothing sacred?

Most of you are too young to realize this, but the real Lesco died in 2002.

One of these days I should write the unadulterated history of the former Lakeshore. A snappy title might be "How to Create the Greatest LCO Supplier, Then Reduce it to a Memory in Just 40 Years".

tremor,
Its a classic example of very poor management isn't it.
Selling of Fert. plant, mobile sales trucks and many more dumb moves.

Gary,

The sale of financial, distribution & manufacturing assets was the attempt to salvage the primary stock holders equity which was in jeopardy due to an earlier management snafu that goes little mentioned today but cost dearly & had to be corrected. In hindsight one has to reflect...some correction huh?
