White Bird paradise

Has anyone planted White Bird paradise and had to take care of them?

I have a customer in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area that has planted about 8 of theses. She has no idea how to maintain them and neither do I. They were hit with the cold weather we were having and not sure how to trim the dead parts back. Has anyone else maintained them? Or know how to trim them back after a winters freeze?

The base and about 2 feet up is still green, but the rest is just brown and falling over.

Yeah I found it, i made the mistake of searching for "white bird of paradise" when the plant is called a "Bird of paradise" but comes in different colors. At least I now know =)
