I recently purchased a 87 chevy 1 ton and I'm trying to find some parts for it. The brackets including the straps for my driver side saddle fuel tank need to be replaced does anyone know where I can get them re-manufactored or original. thanks

Not sure, would coat hanger wire work?
Also try ebay, and on that note maybe try that first.

You need the felt tape as well.

These were so commonly failing, I'm sure just about any auto parts store can set you up with either.

Check your tank around the strap area. They were prone to rust and leak in this area.

I checked LMC but they just seem to sell the straps for the brackets not the actual brackets themselfs. I'm going to try and see if earlyer years had the same brackets and see if they sell those on LMC. thanks for the help guys

this is the link to the LMC page on fuel tanks for this year truck and they don't even picture the bracket part.

Thanks TLS I just shot they and email to find out how much shipping would be. I spoke with a junk yard yestrday and they wanted well over $100 for used brackets.

Just thought I would update this post. I received the brackets and installed them. I only had a problem with the threaded rod that is used to tighten the straps around the tank. The thread was a nasty 3/8-16 and we had to chase the threads and double nut the threaded rod to get the straps to be secure. But besides that they were an exact fit. I ended up having to replace wiring to the fuel pump and fuel gauge, That was in really bad shape.
