Well to go along with the no work situation I am facing now the east coast is getting slammed with allot of rain. Now any work I do get calls on will have to wait until the ground freezes or with some kind of miracle drys up. How is the weather treating everyone else in their home place. Also how has the work load been so far in 08?

Your wife and my wife are on the same page. I tell her the very same thing. "Hey baby I am in the house with you. Yes I have this laptop on my chest as I am laying on the couch but this is important stuff goin on here". She calls this forum "my invisible friends".

Out on the West Coast of B.C. we are not used to frozen ground and snow. When it snows excavation work stops untill the snow melts

I've had a great '08........but nothing to do with work. I don't particularly like to push snow, so I am staying inside and watching it from some place warm for a change. We had 12" here yesterday or last night and another stronger storm coming in behind this one. Trading the markets, buying/selling stocks, trying to make deals........anything but work in this miserable cold and snow. So, I talk with my " Invisable Friends ". Oh yea, baby sitting my wife since she just got two wisdom teeth pulled......she looks like a drugged up chipmonk.

Sorry, couldn't help myself.....somebody stop me! Wife is knocked out cold with major chipmonk med's, I am being a good nurse and attending to her passed out state of being......having a nice one sided conversation with her just wasn't cuttin' the mustard....

Think it's cabin fever startin' to set in.....and on a little more serious side, some concern that my better half is ok. She's real sensitive to medications and having two wisdom teeth pulled is not the most awesome way to spend a Saturday night.

I just wish summer would get here quicker so the days are longer and the dirt can actually dry out some and I wont have all this time to sit here and post all day long.

As far as our work load goes we have done nothing to make money yet. We are still working at least 35 hrs a week though. We are working with the main nursery that I deal with in building a large display area of hardscaping. The nursery retails it and I install it. Going to spend time we can't work building an outdoor kitchen, up to 10 different patio pavers, and different walls in this display. Its very expensive up front but will pay off quickly.

I'm a big hairy scary guy that makes people in banking institutions sweat like pigs.

But at least I have something in pants that's really big and thick and makes women drool.

January '08 better than '07 and dry as a bone here. Had less than 1 in. of rain since Dec. 1 after the wettest 2007 on record for Texas. The building boom is here and ranches are being subdivided faster than they can issue water permits so the work load looks good. Making up for last summer when it rained about every day! The pic is from late June '07 when we should have been dry. This was before the August 13 inches that fell in 6 hours!
Couldn't finish grinding or smoothing for while. We are hoping for some rain real soon.

So far '08 looks dry, dusty, and hot.
