View Full Version : Pay or dump?

I am hearing things on this forum about unpaid debts. I was wondering if any of you believe in the old dump and run? What I am referring is: customer doesn't pay you a nice sum of money. You cannot get the money from that person. You then go with a truck full of unwanted debris and dump it on their driveway when they are not home. Another way this has been done I hear is that you go to the house with a driver in the truck and you go to the door. Tell customer that you want money now or debris gets dumped in driveway. I have heard of both of these methody being done by people in my area. The one where you go to the door worked, the other ones were just in retaliation. I have pondered this idea several times, but have yet to carry it out.

Don't do it!!! Seriously even if you are right don't do it!!!! I'm begging you.......it isn't worth the trouble. Not speaking from experience just know it can't be worth it. There are better ways, turn the other cheek, love your enemies, whatever works for you but that dump and run is NOT THE WAY.

Remember, an unhappy pissed off customer or ex customer will tell 100 people about you, and a happy one will maybe tell 1 person about you. Not worth the bad publicity.

I think you've been watching too many Mafia movies! LOL!

Even if I stiffed you for whatever reason, and I knew I was wrong, I'd still kick the crap out of you if you pulled a stunt like that. There are better ways of doing business than that, it will probobly tarnish what is left of your company name too.

Besides, you will never get paid for your labor if you do that, and you'll probobly have to go pick it up too.

Bad News man!

Can you spell "crime", "illegal dumping", "lawsuit".

This has to be against the law, not to mention incredibly stupid.

Eat the bill and go on if you can't get it by conventional means.

You need to get a handle on reality.

Alan- I put this under the business forum because it had to do with getting paid. As for you other guys, this does happen. A guy who was not good to me, (to put it lightly) somebody dropped about 15 yards of material in his driveway this year (not me) because he didn't pay. Another guy (tree guy) didn't get paid by somebody, went to the guy's house with a load of waste wood. Told the guy if he didn't get his money NOW that he would be getting some presents in his driveway. He got paid right then and there.

Muggers get paid when holding up people with guns too. Doesn't make it right.

Just send them to your late paying/complaint department that you have a picture of. J/K

It seems you ALWAYS have a friend or know someone who has done these crazy and ignorant things. I think mabey you have an over active imagination.

Someone would be plain stupid to do something like that.

Round up Baloons leave prints. Try Round-Up Ice Cubes. Just Joking. Don't do that.

I think this was hashed over on Plow Site. If I owed somebody money, and I DON'T, and they pulled this I would definitely give them the opportunity to try out their health coverage. This is immature and against too many laws to list. Go see Judge Wopner. Round Up ice cubes ... yeah I like that:p

This is addressed in my contract.

Being from Chicago as I am, I get my 2 buddies Rocco and Bubba from Commercial Avenue to come up and give a short clinic on kneecapping. I'm sure Guido has a few Pisans that he can call for you too.

No one has stiffed me yet.;)
