It should. I served six years in the Army and I found that it has given some credibility to me.

Military or Ex-Military makes a difference to me as a business owner. If i knew I had a bid on a property and found out that a military or ex-military guy was bidding on it too, I would pull my bid for him. He served our country, very least I can do for him, there will always be more yards out there to bid on.
Business card looks good. Just dont try to get work near Burkley, CA.

The second card (Chatterbox) doesn't make much sense for a business card. You want to represent what you do, and have it immediately recognizable...not have people say "What the heck?"
According to this card, no one can tell if you are a Keebler elf, papa smurf, or if you sell lawn ornaments, or what. TELL the people what you do with the name.

Just my feeling i dont know if i agree with the military thing, at the best it means your disciplined and reliable. Im a firefighter and i dont go promoting that. I dont want anyone to think or do anything other then the judge me by my quality of my work. just bc your in the military doesnt say anything about your work. but the only plus would be getting a few ex military people. on the down side if your truely giving them a discount is it worth your time?
Just my opionion, no offense meant

Chatterbox,
I realize you d, but it has always been a business marketing strategy (an important one) to incorporate something related to the business within the name - informing people of what it is. With the exceptions of the huge international corporations that are now known what they are an do, this is always a good idea. For instance, the term landscaping, or lawn maintenance, etc. or whatever title fits it. For instance, Joe's garage would be much different than Joe's bar and Grill. However, the simple name of just "Joe's" really shouldn't be used for something like a card that can help you market. Unfortunately, someone's name alone without a title does not explain or sell anything - whether they be a painter, real estate agent, attorney, or dentist. Just trying to help.
Also, I want you to know that I was just having some fun earlier with the previous post. I meant no harm. :)
