I've got an Agri-Fab (Home depot or Lowe's) tow behind spreader I need to use. I went to use it today and the lever that adjusts the amount to spread from 1 to 10 is broken (it's plastic), and the cable is binding up and won't move. Is it worth it to contact the manufacturer and get a new cable and lever, or is there another fix for this that would work well without being too jerry-rigged? I was thinking about getting a choke or throttle cable from the hardware store and using that but don't know if it would be OK.
