I have found a 1992 Isuzu Flatbed with 114,696 miles on it. It has a 5.7 350 4 cyl turbo Diesel for the motor. Truck looks to be in somewhat good shape. I would have to do something with the bed since it looks to be wood underneith and also would have to add a dove tail and gate to load the mowers. What would you pay for this and would you think this would be something to check into or would I have a lot of problems. The guy said it runs fine when he parked it. Let me know what your thouhts are on this truck. kooba.

$4,500 + add in around $2,000 to make the dovetail & get rid of the wood and make a metal floor. Excellent truck with a little bit of work.

Can anyone tell me more about this motor. What to expect with it? How much maitenance do I need to do to it. Anyone have one of these close to this year? I think I might be able to get him lower that what you guys have listed. Not sure. How many miles will this thing handle without pouring money into it.

I had an 88 otor will definatly go to at least 300k without anymore then basic maitanance. My 88 was totaled in 06 and the ins gave me $6200 for it.

It has a 5.7 350 4 cyl turbo Diesel

No such animal. It either has a gas 5.7 liter (350 cubic inch) V8 or a 4 cylinder turbo diesel. The gas is just a small block Chevy, so parts are cheap and plentiful. With that many miles the engine might be tired, but not too expensive to rebuild. The turbo diesel will last longer, and if it has been maintained well probably has a lot of life in it. On the flip side of that the diesel will cost much more to rebuild if it needs it.
