Alright, I am just begining my business and have started off just using my Last name as the name of my business. Right know I am called IKEN LAWN CARE. My wife and I have been talking about changine the name. We came up with IKEN MOW IT. My last name is pronounced "I Can". I kinda like it and I think it sounds good, but I figured I would ask you guys for you opinion. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, but DEFinitely stay away from the "Iken Mow it" thing! It depends on what you want to be reflected as, a professional Grounds Maintenance Service? Or a "lawn mowing service". Because I know aLOT of those! I think I see one at about every intersection I drive through! Take your time at this, and come up with something catchy, clever, short, (that one's is my fallback right now) and easy to remember. I'm seriously considering a transition in names myself at this time as I'm diversifying into some other areas of the green industry. I pretty much have a name picked out, I just don't know if I want to have it as a seperate subsiary of my company, or just change the whole co. name over. I kind of hate to do this, because I've had this name for 17 years now, and have a great reputation and well known name around town. All I can tell you, is at this point, you DEFinitely don't want to go with "Ground Zero."

Make the name something better, and you can use the "Ikan mow it" as a slogan.

Yeah, I think it might be OK to use it as a slogan, but not the NAME. It's gonna be on the truck, card, invoice, ect.
I saw a guy here in town have a similar slogan. A mixture of the two would read "you can grow it-Iken mow it"

I have seen many catchy phrases such as that represent some highly effective companies, I personally would use it only as a slogan.

Like:

Iken Lawn Care
If you can't mow it, Iken mow it!

Here is what I have come up with. What do you think?

Now, THAT looks corporate! Is there anyway that you could put leveled grass underneath the IKEN logo, and have unlevel grass out to the side where IKEN hasn't got to yet? (Or is just about to take care of is how I should have put it). This would give the connotation that IKEN DOES cut it!;) Nice job!

What did you use to make that?

My wife made the logo. She is a graphic designer. It is great for me because I am not very creative. She loves to do this stuff. I keep telling to start a side business, maybe one day.

Also, I might change the slogan to :

"if you can grow it, IKEN mow it"

I think that the one in green would look good for a door decal on your truck. If you were to use it for your biz card you might consider putting it on the front and then listing your info/services on the back.

I'kenda think its a start!

ROTFLMAO!!!! You guys are killin' me. LOL
Now seriously I personally liked both of the ones your wife did.

I L'IKEN both of the ( I couldn't resist) ones your wife did. No preferance but both would work great!

Make sure you post the final item. I want to see it.

hey I like it sounds good with catchy ring to it. Have you thought about a slogan to go with it?

Kind of like 'Lawns "R" Us' with the R backwards like 'Toys "R" Us'. Everytime I see that, I think how dorky and unprofessional.
