I know a mechanic that has a 87 F 150 with something like 600,000 on it and he has a Ford LTD with like 450,000. I did not belive him at first but he was telling the truth. I guess it is all how you maintain em..

I'd believe 600,000 on the inline 6.

Around here...I see alot more new Ford Trucks on the road...but not as many older models. Chevy on the other hand is different...I see older Silverados all the time. I think I read Ford outsells Chevy in new truck sales, but maybe that's because the old Chevys just keep running lol.

My Grandfather passed away last March. Two weeks prior to passing he signed over the title his 1985 Chevy K-10 with 123,000 on it. We changed the plugs and did a few minor PM services and it runs like a dream.

What amazes me is the quality that went into the production of this truck. For our family vehicles we have a Ford Expedition and a NIssan SUV, after driving the Chevy it feels as though you're driving plastic toy trucks in comparison. Hopefully the Chevy will last 1 million miles as well.

The 24valvers, even with their injection pump issues seem to be the ticket for the high mileage hotshot guys. We are approaching 150,000 on our '99 and I still like it better than the '03.

No worries. That '08 will never come close to the million mile marker, Too much computer and plastic nowadays.
