I just ordered fertilizer w/Merit. 21-0-8 (50% slow release) with .20 Merit. My cost was well over a dollar LESS than last year, and it is the genuine deal.....Bayer - not generic. On top of that, rebates might also be offered at a later date. Thought some of you might find this interesting. How does $32 sound?:usflag::canadaflag:

How much of your price break was based on your order size ( Huge). $32 sounds like a very sweet price.

Yep, the new Lesco favors the big volume customers. More volume, lower profit margins. They apparently aren't interested in the high profit low volume customers. Time will tell how that works out.

The low price of generics has forced Bayer to lower its price also--I suspect. Lucky break for us. Also, Arena and, that other new grub product, whose name I don't remember, are adding competition--thiomethoxam or something like that. Sweet price for Merit. You are a determined power shopper, Larry.

Acelepryn is the new one, anyway now that Bayer doesn't own the rights solely anymore to Merit/Imoclopirid, alot of generics have come about, the one thing you really need watch for with true generics is Backing, Bayer will still back it's products you purchase with the Lesco or Andersons,Lebanon label and so on but if you buy a true Chinese generic you are also getting no backing, now for the extra couple bucks a bag it's definitly worth them throwing free Dylox at you if you get breahthrough, and the help you recieve from your'e regional Bayer Rep, they will even deal with big customer issues if need be. like a couple of you said you paid less this year for your grub control product, and you should have everyone should be no matter what your volume, the point I'm making is if you havn't paid less each year the last two seasons, then your not being informed properly by your Rep and they are increasing thier margin on you, so do yourself a favor and get a few prices on similar combo products from a few vendors. It only costs a couple dollars to make a 50# bag of Merit and Thats the truth.

I ordered six tons, so it's not like it was a truckload or anything. I was pleasantly surprised at the price and the fact that it is a 50% slow release product. I figure I lucked out on this one.

I was talking to my regional Bayer rep. last week and he said they will probably not do the rebate this year, just lower the price per bag. But...with fert increases the price per bag will probably be the same. Hey, even without a rebate, if the price is the same or a litlle less that's pretty good with fert. going like it is.
