I found a Chevy C30 Dually w/ 350ci. with a manual trans. Engine has 56,000 miles. Could any of you tell me what kind of fuel mileage to expect? Will be towing a 5x10 open trailer with a Walker mower on board, approx. weight 2000#. I've been told to expect between 10-15 mpg. Is this about right or would you say it to be higher or lower than I've been told.
Thanks,
Mowman

You will never see 15mpg in a carb dual wheel truck.
If you get 11mpg you should be happy.
I get 12mpg with a 1977 Dodge 318-2v van camper single wheels
about 6600 gvw without a trailer.
I would expect 10 mpg, tops. That truck sounds similar to the '79 C-30 I drive at work, 350/grunt low 4-speed/4:10 rear axle and it gets around 9 - 10 mpg average. Also, my '75 C-35 with 350/T400/4:10 pulls around the same. And doesn't seem to make a big difference whether they are loaded/empty, pulling a trailer or not.
That C-30 sounds like a good strong work truck, but it'll like it's fuel!
