help the old briggs

5HP Vac attachment, would not run at full throttle.
It barely run at slow speed but when moving the throttle
to the fast position it cut offf. any suggestions?????????/

probably running too lean , unscrew the adjust screw on the carb 1/2 turn out and try that

like vipermanz said, it is most likely a carb problem. adjust it. does it smoke black? if so, it is getting too much fuel in to the carb.
