Anyone have an estimate or know how fast they move with a 21"? Trying to do a bunch of useless calculations. I estimated 2ft per sec.
Not looking for sq ft, I can do that on my own. How fast do you move forward?
2.2346777777777 feet per second.

I go close to 5 fps with my Lawn-Boy. It has a top speed of 5mph, but you'd have to jog to keep up with it. After figuring in tight area trim and turns, I probably average 3.5 to 4, but in open grass, I can go over 5 fps.
The math end of it. Not reality.
4 mph =
5280 feet in a mile
4 x 5280 = 21120 (feet per hour)
21120/60 = 352 (feet per minute)
352/60 = 5.8666 (feet per second)

Yeah. I ended up with the estimate of 2 feet per second which translates into 175 square feet per minute.
I subtracted 15% of the square ft per minute to compensate for turnarounds and obstacles.
I just have a crappy Troybilt mower, not even a commercial mower, so I'm sure it is much slower than you other guys.
It is getting replaced by a 32" this summer.

I have a couple long, straight yards that I actually do run close to wide open. I got tired of jogging to keep up, though, so I got a 33" walk behind now for those. It's a little slower (about 4mph in 4th gear, which is about the only gear I use) but the width makes it a lot more productive.
