They are manufactured in Korea by Daedong, which I understand to be Bobcat's parent company. They are virtually identical to the Kioti line, although at a higher price and fewer choices. Maybe the white paint costs more than orange.

Perhaps a little better dealer support from Bobcat than Kioti? As in larger dealer network.

They ARE Kioti, Bobcat paints them and changes the wire harness and plugs so they meet the current Bobcat electrical systems.
There was an article in Heavy Equipment Journal about the purchase of Kioti before Doosan bought IR.

I guess that depends on where you are and what your dealers are like. The dealer I bought my Kioti from is large, has been in business a long time and also sells the "other" orange brand, so I'm not concerned with dealer support. I think dealer support in your area should play a huge factor in which tractor you buy, regardless of the brands you are considering.

White Kioti. I never would have thought BobCat would have sold out to a Korean company. BobCat has been know as a reliable product using Kubota engines. Wonder what this will become in a few years?

The switch to Daedong engines should not hurt Bobcat reliability. Daedong has been producing compact water cooled diesel engines since 1949, longer than Kubota, or anyone else for that matter.

We will have to see. Keep an eye on this one in a few years.

Remember, Bobcat Company was actually owned by Ingersoll Rand. IR started to change their business model in 2007 with the sale of their road construction division (to Volvo I believe). In order to complete that change in direction, Bobcat Company was the next to go. They opened up the sale of Bobcat and Doosan was the winning bidder.
While the talk of Bobcat partnering with a a tractor manufacuter has been in the works for some time, an agreement with Daedong was reached around the same time as the sale of Bobcat Company was being completed with Doosan.
Being a true blue Made in the USA guy, I was a bit skeptical and sad when I heard the news but it appears that this is the best thing for the future of the Bobcat brand. Unlike IR, Dossan is committed to their strong market position and Bobcat should gain a tremendous benefit from that fact.
Additionally, the construction industry is a true global marketplace. Consolidation, mergers and manufacturing agreements are now the norm and no company that maintains a strong postion in the market is ignoring such a fact of life. Cat, Deere and many of the rest partner, merge and purchase other domestic and foreign companys all the time.
The Bobcat partnership with Daedong is a good one. Kioti's are good tractors and Bobcat's partnership with them should be a good one. I already have my Bobcat tractor with another on the way for spring and I am very happy the product so far after moving away from John Deere.
