Who has added a suspension setup under a regular Z seat? How do you like it? Any comparisons vs the upgraded suspension seat?
I think the added supension will add alittle more height to the seat vs the upgraded sus. seat.
Thanks
Joel

if you can afford it, get the full Michigan suspension seat. Its lower profile and rides better.

On my Toro Z's one has suspension seat other has suspension kit. The kit is better than no suspension at all, but not as good as the full suspension seat. My Ferris I.S. is even better with no suspension seat, I wonder how good it might be if I put one on it:confused:

In fact, most mower companies offer this seat.

The suspension upgrade is OK, much better than without. The springs will wear out eventually and it wont work as good after a few seasons so sell it with the mower. Adds a few inches to the height which takes a bit of getting used to.

I've seen them on Walkers before, but double check your measurements before purchasing.

Btw, the seat you're looking at is a Michigan v5300 suspension seat.

I bought just the suspension part off of ebay- sold by howard price turf $92 shipped to my door had to drill 6 holes but very easy to do-
One thing I like is that the seat rocks alittle so with the suspension plus alittle rocking motion it is very nice.

Looks like it would do the job. How much height does it add to the seat? Does it change the center of gravity by any noticeable amount? Thanks!

added 3-4 inches to height- about what the upgraded seat from the factory does- I don't think a little change like that will mess up the center of gravity to much- if it was a problem- I don't think you should be on a slope like thatwith a z in the first place.

I have been thinking about adding some type of suspension to my mower but haven't got around to it yet. My Bob-Cat came with the standard, no suspension, seat. I get a little sore after a few hours of bumpy lawns.

OK, question. Is there a seat out there that uses hydro coils oter then springs. Is that what this v5300 is. The reason is , on my kubota sus seat I believe it has springs, but it always bottoms out .I need one that can support my #$$.

I don't think so. The Michigan seats most companies sell have and adjustment that can be tightened up depending on your weight. They shouldn't bottom out unless a very large person used them. I think they should be suitable for persons up to 300 lbs.

I figured for $100 and an hour of my time- it wouldn't hurt anything- the ride would only be better. I wish I had been able to use the mower before and after to really give a good opinion.

I just bought one of these on eBay for my Hustler Z. I'm hoping it will improve the ride. I'll post the results when I find out.

Yes the add on will make it ride better, you will just sit up a little higher than a full suspension seat.

my bad, I know some guys that get a job for the winter time but it sounds like you've got it made where you dont need winter work. Take one apart and see how it's made! There can't be that much to them.

They are nice to have, did without them for quite awhile, they're sweet and if you have the money than it's well worth it. If it's a toss up between a new seat or a new trimmer than I'd take the trimmer.

Can anyone tell me if the Michigan V 5300 suspension seat is available in different colors? JD yellow? Not a big deal if not but I thought I'd ask before I buy it.

Cheers..
