I'm new here and that sounds like a good question. I'm still in the begining of the learning curve.

Most use hydrogen peroxide at 30% strength, this is not the kind that you buy at grocery store
It cleans by oxidizing organic matter like bugs and films
A better buy for the buck is sodium percarbonate which is a dry powder of straight hydrogen peroxide 2 pounds for about $4.00
Have you ever heard of Oxiclean (who hasn't) same stuff, except they add filler to oxiclean
There are chemical stores on line that sell it

I use Basic H from Shaklee for all my cleaning. Organic, works great, inexpensive.

be careful with that 30% hydrogen peroxide it can burn your skin pretty bad.

You can also use bleach.

Chlorine works but you will need to dechlorinate the vessel
Oxididizers are the thing, sodium percarbonate, or if you reallly want to kick it up a notch potasium permangenate.
Have you ever put hydrogen peroxide on a wound and have seen it bubble?
these are oxidizers and can hurt you, be cautious, protect your eyes and hands, PLEASE

Can I use my brewer consecutively w/out cleaning it? I mean make one brew and the next day make another.

Hmmm....I would clean it. You want to remove any biofilm or any anaerobic materials in there prior to making your next batch. Anything left over could compromise the quality of your next batches. Hopefully Tad or Tim will weigh in here, or if Gerry needs to consult the SFI archives.

Okay, NattyLawn, I'll clean it out then. I just wanted to know. Hopefully, someone else will chime in if they feel appropriate.

Always clean after each brew. If not your next batch will be totally worthless.

hunter,
I cleaned it out really well with some H2O and Hygrogen Peroxide. Now in the future I will continue to do the same since the input here was pro-cleaning. Where in Texas are you?
Thanks,
Dean
