Wondering if anyone has a "base line" price guide for used Scag mowers. I've been looking for several months and found a 2002 48" ZTR w/ 960 hours on it. The owner didn't know what they wanted for it, so I offered $2800.00 to start the bidding. Too high? I have been unable to find a fairly good price guide. Any help provided would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Chuck...I see you're a dedicated Scag man...and from Muncie (I'm from Terre Haute), how do the Scags hold up as far as when you get up and over 1000 hours? Are replacement parts expensive? Are there any "known issues". Thanks.

Ahhhh HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ding ding ding you are right about the scag cut! They dont cut very good compared to alot of other mowers! I am glad somebody finally came right out and said it. Even the well known guy on here "Tacoma" has said the velosity deck doesnt cut as clean as other mowers he has used. Scag die hards crack me up. Ours has been a terrible cutting breaking down POS and it has less than 400 hours on it.

Fellas, I need your guys oppinion about another used mower. Here are the stats:
Scag Turf Tiger
22HP Liq KAW
304 hrs
52" Deck
5hp TracVac
11x24 rear tires $4995.00

Supposedly it has "no scratches" and is really clean. Any comments?? Thanx

Not too sure yet Chuck. The dealer has it in a warehouse and the guy said he "thought" it was an '02. I'm going to get all that info, and the model number off of it and see. It's at complete in Terre Haute. You'd figure they would know what they were talking about.

I think its been a while since they had a 22 horse in one . Iam guessing if it only has 300 hrs on it and has been well taken care of it might be worth at least 5 grand thats just a rough guess Now that would have to be in excellant shape to get that not many scratches paint not faded no leaks ect before i would buy it have the engine cked out by another dealer , compression, check belts , ect and have it gone over good . Get the numbers and have another dealer run them so there is not questions on what yr it is

Also looking at purchasing a used Scag Turf Tiger 61" ( I believe the model is a SMT61?) It has 1,100 hrs and am not sure the year but it looks fairly sharp yet. The local Cub Cadet dealer is asking $3,250, what would be a fair offer for it? Looking to buy my first ZTR

I run Scags......very reliable but I just had to put in a pump in a 48" Tiger Cub at 3 years and 960 hrs. Stuff can fail.
