"if were more than 3 days late......... instead of "that"

Raven386
03-04-2008, 11:40 PM
I would just state that you are insured not the amount you are insured for....

What if it rains for two or three days straight? Are you going to give all of those clients you were late for a free mowing?

Raven386

Referals=referrals

maybe instead of the clean attire,etc...
Professional Lawn Maintenance & Landscaping Services at an affordable price!

or... Professional,Courteous,Prompt Lawn Service at an affordable price!

-is that what the ad is going to actually look like, because its kinda blurry and hard to read.

Here's My changes
By the way, I appreciate the Criticism.
What do you mean by 3rd grader?
I guess I should explain that the newspaper company will be making there own ad, this is just a rough estimate.

Please tell me what you would change

Thanks for the input though guys

well having "insured" in that list and then stating your policy amount is redundant of itself... and referrals is still spelled incorrectly on your ad..

How's This:

Raven:
I guess I put the clean attire on here because everyone in my town is a professional, they just have dirty equipment, employees vehicles are rust buckets, and only 2 of the 5 big guys who are my only competition are serious about their operation 7 days a week

Never mind the third grader comment lets get down to the point!
1)Get rid of the if we're late, it's shows the customer your not reliable to begin with.
2) Never offer anything free nothings free in life ..
3) I don't like the discount offer makes you sound desperate (never) sound desperate..
4) Customers won't care if your equipment is dirty, as long as you make the place look sensational...
However, I did like you listing all services you provide, it narrows down places they would normally look for those services...
You already listed your 1 million liability insurance no need to repeat it ...

If you feel that if people see the 1 mil coverage they will be more inclined to call you then put it back... you just didnt need both on there. but other than that I think it looks pretty good.. good luck with it!

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm trying to start a business that has clean equipment all the time, I get that from being an assistant super at our local golf club.
I know that a little background adds to the whole picture.

lawnproslawncare
03-05-2008, 12:11 AM
I'm gonna sit down tomorrow and get a background picture put in place.
Maybe I will get rid of the discounts and other jabber.
There are more services I would love to put in, or even some starting prices.
At least you guys are trying to throw boulders at me throwing me to the ground and stomping on me!

As far as the insurance, if its that important maybe they will ask what the liabilities are, it will make it a good closing deal selling point at the very least!
MAN I'M PUMPED FOR SPRING.

Personally I wouldnt add prices to is....

I definetley agree with Commando about the "if were late" part, so maybe lose that.
but everything else I like....

How big is the ad going to be? I think there is too much info in too little space.

Just my .02!

Ok Guys,
I made some changes under your advice. I think I'm really liking where this is headed!

lawnproslawncare

So why wouldn't you put your prices just to be curious?

Turf Commando

I Wonder if the service area is a good idea to place in it.

Raven386

that one looks good... adding the areas was a good idea, are you going to do a background picture on it?

lawnproslawncare
03-05-2008, 03:26 PM
The background picture is the plan, I'm gonna let the newspaper place the picture though. This is just a rough design for them.

Are you going to be running this add soon? I'm trying to decide when to start running adds. It's been a very hard winter this year, and I think most people are still thinking about snow! lol :hammerhead:

Last week in March I think, If its still cold I'm gonna wait till the first or second week.
If your hitting commercial accounts, now is the time unless they are small business's.

I agree with Turf Commando and his list. I think you are saying too many irrelevant statements to a customer that is just looking for someone to cut their grass. They could not care less about what brand or how clean your equipment is, they just want their lawn cut and looking good. If they want to know how much you are insured for they will ask. I would condense it down some, sometimes less is more. I get plenty of calls from a tiny classified ad that says.

A little busy. I would make the text larger and invert it (black background and white text) to catch the eye and set yourself apart from all the other ads. Drop the amount of GL insurance. Sure a "million" of anything is impressive, but you might be setting yourself up for a scam. I would also drop the free mowing for being late 3 days. Could have a death in the family or some other unforeseen incident. Also, most don't care that your attire and especially your equipment is clean.

I opened the ad but did not bother reading it because it looked like a paragraph. Have to keep it simple.

Yeah, by the way, the word "rates" isn't supposed to have an apostrophe in it.

hey do you go to manawa to i have a big lawn there about 89 acres could you give me a price on that ?

lawnproslawncare
03-06-2008, 11:45 PM
Are you serious about manawa? I'd do it, $40 per hour for first two hours, 30 for hours beyond that. 89 acres is a lot, i'll have to buy a jake wing mower--120 per hour :)
