Trade it in. Sorry, outside of telling you to slow down, that's the only thing that will help.

yeh... not much you can do. the 05+ v-10's got a lot better mileage. you can try an intake, exhaust, and chip.

2wd or 4wd? I have a 2000 f250 2wd v10. On the freeway cruising 70 or better i average at least 15mpg. In town and towing it drops to about 12. Usually not much less than that.

You bought a big motor. Big motor=Big gas bill.

And that quite frankly, will cost enough that it's nearly prohibitive if you're just doing it for mileage.:(

I think you are just outta luck. My buddy has an 08 F250 4x4 supercab short bed with the 5.4 and the best he has ever gotten was 10.2 on the highway. It makes me want to keep on patchin the patches on my 96 powerstroke. The sad thing is, his 30K truck (after plow and everything) costs him just as much in fuel to run as my 84 F250 with a 351. His truck is obviously a lot nicer, and probably has more power, but still, with fuel the way it is it's all a numbers game anymore.

thats to low for a 5.4...theres somethin up with it. 5.4's can get 14+ on the highway. 6 spds can get 18-19.

I get 11 city and 14 to 15 on the highway depending on my speed. BTW, what kind of rear end does the OP have?

It does have 3 valves, thats what the tri ton stands for. Its the extra gear they put in em that gets the better mileage.
