I've heard rumors that Ford's taking back the Cummins for 2010...

I sure hope they're the truth...

Guess who'll be driving a 2010 F-250?? :cool2:

I don't know where you heard that rumor there will be no Cummins in a Ford and never will be. Ford is building their own diesel for the Superduty line up.

Besides cummins is not for at one point ford owned a small amount of stock in cummins and that was it. Cummins bought back what ford had. Ford dd not have anything to do with what cummins did or built. maybe this is why cummins are so great. they are not fords.

Yes two turbos but not twins, they're compound.

ive never heard of compound turbos. by compound do you mean that one turbo feeds into the second turbo? i know that system by Sequential Turbo System. prolly the same thing.

You sometimes see compound (one turbo feeding another) referred to as twins in diesel literature and websites. I don't know if it's different in gasser world, but it's pretty common usage with diesels.

Twins is incorrect even in the diesel world unless you have two turbo chargers that are the same size working in parallel. Compound turbo charging or staging is when you have two chargers of different sizes, a large charger blowing into a smaller one. The idea is to reduce lag. Twins on a diesel would never be able to build enough boost quick enough to make any real power.

Calling compound or two stage chargers, twins is like calling a magazine a clip, lot's of people and companies do it but that dosen't mean it's right.
