There is hope out there for us.
I have been mowing for 3 years and im only 15 right now. I have been mowing with this same push mower and handhelds this whole time. Last year I was able to save up enough to buy me a John Deere lx176 rider with 38in deck. I mowed 6 lawns last year and hope to have 10 this year.
I recently bought this trailer and rigged it up to hold all of my equipment to travel around town with.

I know ill probably catch crap and be called a lowballer and an unlicensed unprofessional kid but everyone has to start somwhere. I dont lowball I charge no less then 20 a yard and that is only on flat open intown yards. My going rate is around 30.

You stay with it and best of luck. But please get a slow moving safety triangle for the trailer too -- live to mow another day.

I was thinking the same thing...if nothin else get some reflective tape. Don't be ashamed of tha setup...I used to have one just like it and I was 22. Had several yards within close proximity to my house. Didn't amke sense to move the truck.

Good unit- I started like that, but with a bike trailer. Wish I had pictures. Don't sell yourself short- charge what the big boys do if you work as well as they do.
I think your doing great.

I remember when I was 15 with a (Grass Handler)32'' 8hp lawn tractor made by MTD, pulling a dump cart, Just like you.:waving:
Drove mine, down M-89 highway to job sites, across streets, Memories...
It's nice to see your setup, thanks for sharing good luck this year buddy...Joe

"unprofessional" is an attitude- you are not that. You may look into getting a business license to counter any other argument against you- may not even be needed in your area. In my city they are $50- may be less where you are. Good job- work hard, and you'll get what you want out of life.

Thanks for all the compliments guys. Im doin my best with what I got this year and hope to have a trailer and truck by next year.
I never thought about the SMV sign on the trailer but its a good point since the one on the mower is blocked. Ill get on that.
I figured lots started out this way.

Thats a nice little setup ya got there. I am 16, and should soon be getting a rusty 93 F-150, I wont get a rider because around here you cant get one in most yards, but if I did, you can bet I would get advive from you.
On a side note, we should try and get a section on here for us younger guys getting started.

Thanks for all of the compliments guys..I got alot more positive comments then i expected. Im really proud of my setup and even though its not some big 3500 PU and 22ft enclosed trailer it works.
Yes I do plow snow with it. It is kinda nice in drives and stuff but its sorta backup when the skidloader aint around. I hope to also put a plow on my truck.
A teen mowing forum would be great..let me know wut i can do to help get one fired up.

Very Awesome! It reminds me of when I had something like that.
Stay strong, don't let anyone get you down.
I had that setup when I was twelve, I'm fifteen now, and sliding into a very successful year!
Check out some of my old threads for pictures of the stuff! A new picture will hopefully follow this weekend!

When I first started out, I had my bike, and a bike trailer, and I put my rake and weed trimmer in there, and bunji strapped the push mower to the back of the trailer, and me and my friend went down the street to a few peoples lawns, and thats how I got started.

I see something like what you have and I realize you don't need a lot of equipment to get started just a good work ethic and I have one of those so I guess I have a start:) Keep up the good work you are going to do extremely well!!
