Id like to find a 16-21hp Briggs vanguard engine, 12v start, 3500+ psi with at least 4-5gpm.

Im tired of using junkers that just dont last more than 10 times before they have pump problems, gun problems, and some are just god awefully loud even for little 7hp motors.

Would belt drives be quieter or is direct drive the way to go?

How much is a machine like this one? http://www.alliedpressurewashers.com/images/Big_images/Cold-GED_6_4000_fr%20.jpg
It would be awesome to have at least a 50' pressure line with a retractable winding wheel for it on top :)

I found this bad boy... http://www.everypressurewasher.com/asp/show_detail.asp?sku=BAS1069&refid=PG80-BAS1069

$3200 seems like a lot though, since for $1500 their next model down and not much different in specs.

Check Pressure Tek (http://www.pressuretek.com)
Bob is the owner and all his equipment is high quality.
You can call him and he'll be happy to point you in the right direction.

To answer your questions.
Belt drive is the way to go, not direct drive. You'll need a float valve tank for more than 4 gallons per minute.
Buy GoodYear pressure hoses, they are much more flexible and durable than the other brands.
Again, call Bob, he is one of the best in the industry. :weightlifter:
