1. How much do you guys charge?
2. How often do you perform it in a season?
3. And if its edging out a new bed taking away soil and sod what do you charge?

I charge by the hour the same as cutting when I first set the edge. I maintain it as needed for 10 dollars. I think I need some advice in the area also....

Edging of beds we charge $1 per linear foot if we are putting new mulch down. if all we are doing is edging we charge $1.50 per linear foot. First we pull away the mulch about 16" away from the edge. Then the Brown Bed Edger puts a 4" deep trench as an edge and we spread out the soil and then pull some muclh back over the soil into the trench but we try and leave about a 2" deep trench as the edge. It isnt too deep the mower will drop in and scalp the heck out of the lawn, but it is deep enough that the mulch should inhibit any weeds and turf from growing through it for at least a few months.
Touchup edging (using just a stick edger) can be done a lot cheaper and I havent formulated a price on this yet. Pavement edging would be comparable to touchup edging. I would guess maybe $ .10 per foot. You could probably do this a few times a year and not have any cleanup except blowing off of pavement.

i edge all curbs, sidewalks, driveways, and other walkways as part of my normal cutting charge. not edging makes me look bad, why would someone want to pay to have a bunch of grass hanging over the sidewalk?
just my .02

Yeah I thought 1.00 per foot was the going rate.... so if its 5,000 feet of edging $5000.00 bucks?

i edge every time i mow(if needed), and it's included in the price

bed edging and edging sidewalks is very different
i havent done edging along driveways or walks yet but i may do that this coming year.
I do however string trim curbs etc if the mower doesnt get close enough

Thanks Mike. I have done this service for a while now and charged a dollar per foot for eding only. I have been underpricing myself. that's no good for me or for the profession.
