Am I on another planet thinking that my truck is worth more than that. I have a 2006 F350 powerstroke with 33,000 miles on it. Regular cab, XLT. 8ft bed, single rear wheel, Power tinted windows, Power door locks, FX4, trailer tow package, camper package, plow prep package, upfitter switches, tow command, pintle ball combo, tool box, and liner. Only work it has done is plow snow and sometimes tow a trailer locally. Truck has no dents dings or scratches. I went to the ford dealer to purchase a new 08' super or crew cab lariat diesel and they offered me $15K for my truck and then upped it to $18K when I got up and left. :dizzy: :dizzy: :dizzy:

and moderators, this isn't intended as an ad, i'm just lookign for feedback because I feel its an insult when you go in to spend $48k on a truck and they offer you $15K on a truck that you bought for $42K just over two years ago

You might not be a dodge fan..like me, but Me and my dad got on the boat these past few years. Right now you can get quad cab Dodge 2500 4x4 cummins for $28999. I bought the dually quad cab SLT 2 wheel drive for $29999!! I think the 4 wheel drive is $32999. You can get a dodge like you have now for around $26000. Might be a good alternative to make up for the money your losing.

they r trying to put the screws to u, i went thruogh the same thing with dodge only it wasnt practikly brand new if i where u i would hang on to it a little longer. i hate fords but that is a sharp truck. they just want to get it cheap so they can turn around and make a mint off of it. i had a 99 ram 2500 4x4 cummins and i wanted to trade it for a 2004 chevy 1500 hd and the first dealer i went to offered me 8800 bucks. i told him to f..k off, i also explained that it had a cummins diesel not a v8 gas. i ended up goin to another dealer and got the chevy truck i wanted and i have been happy since then. if you want to trade it i would try some other dealers and see what thay will give for it

Yah thats what I'm thinking, I'll probably just hold on to it and in a couple years add an ez dumper and make it a maintenance truck. Theres no way i'm going to take that big of a hit on a truck that is in perfectly fine shape. It's almost like they dont want my business.

:gmctruck:u might visit a gmc dealer and get a d max or even a dodge dealer, its all in what ya like who knows a gm or dodge dealer may give u more for it if u wanted a new one that bad. hell if it dont break down all the time i would drive the crap out of it till i got my money's worth

Why are you selling a 2 year old truck with 33,000 miles on it? That isn't a smart move. But yeah i'll give you $15k for it, i'll be there tomorrow you pick me up at the airport.

What is nada whole sale on the truck? Look that up then go to another dealer , or go back to the original dealer and tell him ok 15k for yours and 34k for his 08 4x4 crew cab Lariet with plow. You need to find out the true value on your truck before going into a dealer. You should also find the truck you want , get the best price on it then throw your trade in last. Dont play the I need a payment at ---- game either.

You could get between $25 and $30,000 if you sold that privatly and its in good shape. $15,000 is more the price for a high milage gasser of that year.

Cheers
Jeff

Around here I would love to get that truck for 15k even if it had the 5.4 or V10, Like somebody else said I would sell private. Use Craigslist and list for what you want to get out of it, if it does not sell keep listing weekly, it's free of charge add's so your out nothing if it does not sell. I have been noticing more diesel's for sale lately with high fuel prices, but the asking prices still seem to be high. I have a feeling trucks are going to get cheaper with the economy the way it is.

try going to a chevy or a dodge. sometimes you can get more from a trade if you switch to a competing truck manufacturer

I just traded off a 2005 Crew Cab with Powerstroke with 33k miles as I was having turbo issuses with the truck, at the time I didnt know Ford was having problems with all the 6.0 ltrs, The dealer I traded with said Ford change to the New Powerstroke early 2007 to simply get the 6.0 off the market, Of course they will offer you $15-$18k- they dont want these trucks back, My 2008 is a world of difference on pulling than my 2005 ever thought about being, I love my 08 Ford. Are you having any issuses with your truck?

wow, they are trying to screw you. I've got my 99 F350 crew cab dually 4x4 powerstroke listed at $16,000, with 148K miles, nada is still $17,000. A friend of mine has a truck just like yours, but an 05 with 45k miles that he was thinking about trading and the dealer offerd him like $25k for the truck, and $6000 or so for his 9' western V and 8' Western salt spreader that all came new on the truck. His truck has a few dents and scratches too, it's not perfect by any means. Unless you need the bigger cab i'd just keep the truck for that price, if you have a 6.0 that has been trouble free, hang on to it.

The Kelly Blue Book trade-in value is about $22,000 for that truck, private-party value $25,500, retail value is $30,600. They really tried to steal that truck from you!

No problems whatsoever, I have started doing a lot of traveling to Maryland and would just prefer the bigger cab. How is your 08 doing on mileage?

THere are trucks identical to that around here selling for right around $30k from the dealers with the same mileage. I would think the price of diesel is what has alot of impact on what they want to give you for that truck right now because more and more people are considering buying a gas job that would never before

From the few true truck lots in my neck of the woods, the trucks seem to be sitting around period. Not selling much of anything. Pick-ups, dumps, utility bodies, etc seem to be lingering.....

I'd keep the '06 6.0L.... IMO it'll be more reliable than an '08 6.4L. The reg cab will be a PITA but whadda ya gunna do. Maybe try Dodge and see if you can get a '06 ram with a 5.9 (NO 6.7!!!) for a decent price as either a demo or slightly used. I think GM is doing ok with the LMM duramax, so maybe check them out.

I think Ford has dropped the ball in recent years as a company, not to mention the dealers. My local dealer had an '06 F250 SC LB 4x4 and I was treated like a POS. Then I got my dad to walk up to it and he had a sales person come up to him before he got to the truck. He just said "Oh, I'm not buying something. My son wants a truck but you guys seemed uninterested in his business." then we left.

I just bought a 2006 F250 Lariat supercab PSD FX4 with 10,000 miles in atlanta georgia last month for 28,000 delivered to illinois. truck was mint top to bottom still has factory stickers under cab, frame, and the plastic on the floor mats, truck was leather loaded to the nuts....better than show room. I checked 5 diffrent ford dealerships in illinois, and every one wanted over 30,000 for one with over 60k???? i gave them all a fair shake but they tried to sell me a gold mine...so i went out of state... fuel milage is 16 city, and 19 highway at 65mph...towing my bobcat i get about 14mpg....im pleased..rides a bit hard with the plow prep package...but tolerable
