What do you guys think of these logos?

TNT LawnCare Inc.

I like number one,the trees dont fit your motto The Lawn specialist. Just my .2 cents thou

P.Services

why the tree for lawn service??

Icemanku

Well it's a lawn and landscape. Keep in mind it's a logo.

I don't think a tree like that conveys the message that you want.
When I see a tree like that, I think tree service, and nothing at all about lawns.

No offense but a tree has a lot more to do with mowing lawns than TNT:laugh:

Lose the "&" between Lawn and landscape. The Tree separates the two.

If your gonna use the tree with roots, I would think about using a logo like "building your landscape from the ground up"

I have to be honest. I don't really care of any of them. I like the suggestions the other guys have had for you though. Try something a little more eye catching. Brighter font or something.

Icemanku

I don't want a motto with my name and logo. A tree probably confuses us lawn folk, but everyone I've showed theses to, friends and family, really like the last one. I think doing lawn and LANDSCAPING warrants a tree as a symbol.

Also, who's to say I don't do more landscaping than mowing? The normal Joe Schmoe on the street is going to read the logo and care about what words say. Not "Why the heck did they use a tree, that's stupid"

I think it works and looks great! I appreciate your opinions.

Raven386

It needs work. if you want to use a tree. use a different one. and really, you have already made up your mind why are you asking for opinions?

I haven't made up my mind, but the first couple posts pinned everyone else's idea in a corner. There's THOUSANDS of lawn companies with trees in their logo and no one says anything. Therefore I don't see the big deal.

I don't know why it needs work either? What's wrong with the tree? It's just a tree.

Its not a very appealing tree. IMO that will not look good ona shirt, car door etc... yea blown up it looks great. small on a bus. card it will look like sh@t. JMO.

You said it yourself! "There's THOUSANDS of lawn companies with trees in their logo and no one says anything. Therefore I don't see the big deal." ........exactly. why do the same exact thing as the next guy?

There's nothing I can/will come up with that hasn't already been used.

Most of the logos around my area look the same, but I think this one looks good.

I'm a little bummed that none of you guys like it.

What kind of ideas do you guys have? Anything you wished you would have used?

I think yours looks fine, but I have to say we're in two different directions. I like the classic look and yours is busy.

What's 10-E?

Icemanku,

where did you find that side view of lawn - I have been looking for an image like that.

I think that the tree logo looks good I wouls loose the "&" and just put the services on either side.. The only other thought is to either shorten up the roots a bit or I liked the idea some said about a line involving the ground like " all lawn services from the gound up"

could go eathier way though

Please let me know if you recall where you found that grass image

Well you think mine is too busy and I think the same about yours lol. Everyone remembers the 10-E, its very memorable and thats really what I want to stick out on my logo. If you want to use a tree, try a different one. that one will not look good on bus. cards, shirt etc... JMO

I was trying to keep things symmetrical so I didn't want to take out the "&".

Agree to disagree

Anyone else?

I think it would look better if you lost the roots. I would maybe try a couple different trees also, something "lighter" looking.

seeing that tree, my first thought was tree service. it has nothing to do with lawns and little to do with landscaping.

I just don't think it's going to turn a customer off or confuse anyone except those in the lawn industry. I just drove by two companies while I was out with a tree as the centerpiece of their logo and I think it looks great.

Iceman's mind is made up. He's just looking for someone to say they like the tree. I do agree though, it won't turn the customer off, cause of course they aren't going to say to themselves, "i'm not calling this guy cause he has a tree logo." But without trying out any other ideas for a logo, you'll never know if you could have came up with something better.

I don't want to pay for something that I can make myself. I also don't want to make another generic mowing logo. I ALSO want something classic looking and not big bold letters.

I do appreciate your ideas and thoughts.

I did not know you trimmed and removed trees. I thought you just did mowing.

Honestly it seems to me you were just looking for someone to agree with you and everyone else who did not agree was deemed wrong or ignored.

BTW, do you do chipping? If so I can send some work your way.

So just trimming? I always have people asking...

You need to understand that when you put a question out here there are bound to be people that will disagree with you. Its just the way it is.

You cant expect everyone to see it your way.

I agree with some others. Leave the design up to the pros. It does not cost the much, hell its write off, and they will do a great job.

contact Grits, he was making logos for a while. You just said you have seen 2 other LCO's with a tree in their logo...right? So why would you not want to be different then the rest, stand out with a different logo. Not your name with a tree like joe schmo's and als lawn care has. Like what was said, your mind is made up already, you were just looking for someone to say they like it.

If you like it, go for it. You posted your question here looking for opinions, dont expect everyone to agree with you. And in this case, no one agreed with you....isn't that kinda telling you something there?

Trust me, $50 is a small price to pay for a sharp looking logo that will print easy. The logo will only be generic if you dont provide the logo shop with details of your business.

Ok, I am in desktop publishing. I know you are going to be defensive because you designed the logo and considered it "Final". You would not have if you did not like it. Seriously, I manage this dept, please don't be offended but that logo does not work. Most importantly, it is very distracting. I will guarantee you that 99% of the people that see that on a truck or trailer will not have time to get your number, unless they are behind you for a while. The tree its self is nice, maybe with some grass instead of roots. It is hard on the eyes. What it boils down to, its just my opinion.....

paul vroom
03-25-2008, 07:58 PM
I just went back and read all the other comments, and like I said, you are being very defensive. I am sure you worked hard on it. There is nothing wrong with the tree. It would look good with some grass but lose the roots. Seriously, I manage a desktop publishing dept for a printing company and I would suggest the tree with some grass. There is a reason everyone uses trees, it will never be over done. Its the roots that are really distracting. All these guys are being honest. Do with it as you wish.

Also, the detail is fantastic. However you might find that a hindrence using it on everything, some applications might require a "plainer" logo, so perhaps if you do make one very fine and detailed like this, you'd also have a second version, 2-4 color.
