We hung flyers at several businesses in our area w/ cards stapled to them. They've disappeard from about 4 or 5 stores. Some stores they disappeared twice. Well, we believe we have figured who the culprit is. Another lawn service company put their flyer up where ours "was". We just keep putting them back up. Kinda've funny, but it's, definitely, not good business on their part.

It is probably the lawn service that has the contract now, that you are trying to horn in on. Do other services throw flyers at your customers?

I think that is childish and very unprofessional for some one to do that...Some one that does that is not very secure in their business. Most of the time its the part timers that do that....they think they can mow a 1000 yards a week and are scared someone is going to take away all the yards in a town lol

This is just my opinion, but I wouldn't hang fliers on a business in the first place. If you want commercial accounts, find out who owns the biz/building/property and contact them directly. Go to the source, man.

pizza shops and delis are real good cause people are constantly in and out plus they usually are standing around for a few minutes waiting for their order. Usually though the flyers are for the delivery drivers uninsured mowing, painting, and power washing business.

You dont hang fliers to get commercial accounts. You put them up at stores for the foot traffic. Places like Panera, Borders, and most super markets have bulletin boards for such advertising.

If i see people putting out flyers work....I dont mess with them i just let them do their thing even if they put one on the door of one of my customers! but if i see the little flyers with a rock that are in the sandwhich bag thrown on one of my lawns ...then we have a problem it is lazy and i have to pick it up when im mowing & if i dont see it and mow it over it just a chance i dont want to take sending that rock throu a window or scratching a car and then haveing to call my insurance co. to make a claim because of a lazy basterd $hity marketing idea.. Sorry! didnt mean to get off the subject

I don't think I've seen any other lawn service flyers out in circulation except the one that is "replacing" ours.

I think you just hit the nail on the head. They, probably, fear us. In our area, there are a lot of people who do it part time and mow w/ homeowner equipment - charge cheap too. We just gave an estimate on a yard for $35 and the lady said the guy who was doing hers charged $20 and went up to $25!

Grocery stores, gas stations, auto parts stores, etc. If there is no bulliten board, ask the cashier and they may let you tape it to a window. That's what we've done at times.
