very nice tarp setup and I like the 5th wheel. If your going to be hauling any gravel or sand you will need a bigger truck!! Also what is the weight of the trailer empty?? you can't put much material in it. it is perfect for leaves and mulch. I have a new 14ft 15400 gvw dump trailer and it weighs 5000 empty.

Thanks for the comments, got to use it today for mulch was able to get 12 yards in it easily if i would have takin the time to rake it into the corners could have gotten at least 13. as far as the empty weight it is right around 4,000lbs. i figure i should be able to haul five ton of rock and sand in it no problem. My truck is a 2500hd w/ the duramax so that would put it right at its gvwr (wouldn't want to do it every day but every now and then wouldn't be a big deal. I was going to go w/ a 14' foot but was able to go with the 16 for just a little more and gives me thath much more room for mulch and brush as well as room for equipment if need be. The tarp works great i am going to slip a pipe through the end of it and put hooks at the back of the trailer so it will keep it tighter though.

looks great!! Does the battery charge itself when pluged into the truck? Or do you have to hook up a charger to it every night??

the battery charges itself off the truck by a trickle charge but the guy i bought the trailer off of said to still charge the battery if i use it alot in a day

what are you using that thing for?

chevytrucks84

everthing: mulch, brush, rock, dirt, skid steer, mini ex and anything else I can think of an excuse to use it for. Obviously with rock and dirt i wont be able to fill it but should be able to haul about 5 ton with it no problem and still dump it.
