1.5 to 2 depending on the terrain.....

1 to 2 depending on whether your laying in an open space area, or spreading around plants in crowded flower beds. It also depends on how far your walking.

1-2 using 10 cu. ft. wheelbarrows (much less using 6 cu. ft.) depending on terrain, perennial coverage and distance walked

(2) 10cf wheelbarrows and (3) supercharged amigos. Amazing what they can do when payed by the yard. Also do a awesome job of detail. They did 2- 30yd jobs last Sat.

I can do 2 yards per hour for the first 3 hours. Then I start to slow down a little. I did 6 yards in 2 hours 15 minutes by myself once, but I think that was a fluke luck sort of thing.
I did 18 yards one day shoveling it off driveway into 10 c.f. wheelbarrow and spreading with mulch fork. Ranged 20 feet to 200 feet from pile. Couldn't make a fist at the end of the day. Now I always take it right off the truck (dump bed is great) into the wheelbarrow and never shovel it off the ground. If you have an amigo or two to help you then all you have to do is point to where you want the mulch dumped (even by the forkfull between plants) and spread it as fast as they can supply it to you. Or just get another amigo and have them do everything. The 3 amigo method is best for your back.
I find it is best to do mulch in the morning when the grass is wet and it is cooler. Even pick up the mulch the afternoon before and start real early the next morning. Then after mulching mow the yard to erase the wheelbarrow tracks.

10 to 12 yards per hours is insane....and really hard to believe that the quaility and detail are really done. But thats just my opinion. We have been going thru a avg. of 65 to 70 yards per week. I usually try to only schedule 15 to 20 yards a Mulch per day. Therefore we can clean out the beds, edge them if needed, and any other general prep. We did two jobs about two weeks ago, 12 and 15 yards each. It took 5 guys pretty much the entire work day to complete them both with annual planted. Wasnt a bad day at all for the bottom line either. As far as when to put it down, it really doesnt matter for us, but If I am going to use my mowing crew to help out then I will schedule them for the end of the day, therefore we can just cruise and not have to rush. I do find that doing the clean out in the morning before it gets to hot helps in the summer time.
