I like the Stihl trimmers. You really can't go wrong with any of their commercial grade trimmers.

I have been very happy with the Pro-Cut stuff from John Deere but I believe that it is Kawasaki brands that they have put their name on. It is .95 and an I beam type of line. It lasts a long time and cuts through just about everything I ask it to.

IMO Gatorline, hands down. We use the round .105.

I tried the twisted .105 came with Honda, then Husky titanium round .105 then some left over .095 orange line with edges from Lowes. I like that the best. I can put more into the head. I bought Echo .095 with 8 edges, I'll try this next. I found those .105 round don't cut very well.

Been there, done that. My Speed-Feed head came with SilenTwist on it. I couldn't wait to get rid of it, and it didn't take long. As soon as it was gone, CrossFire went back on the SRM210. What I didn't like about SilenTwist was that I couldn't hear the line (the silent part) and I couldn't tell how much line I had out by the sound. Also, with no sharp edges (the twist part), it didn't cut heavy grass very well.

My Honda came with silent twist also, I don't like it, that and the Husky titanium round is just as bad. I don't find the silent twist silent!!!. I like the orange edge ones from Lowes. I am going to use Echo Cross Fire 0.095 as soon as I finish all the titanium line.

We were talking about lines, but it is good to know.

I have the Honda HHT31SUNBA with bike handle. I love it!!! Someone here claimed Honda trimmers are only Residential trimmer, I think Honda is a lot more than that, I hear a lot of good things about it before I bought mine, only thing is the weight. Build like a tank......weight like a tank!!!! What can you do. Infact I just bought a Mantis Honda GX25 tiller, going to recieve it tomorrow, hopefully.

Well back to our best trim lines:waving:

WoW, you should be able to cut anything with .95 line ! :)

Myself, I use a lot smaller line, .095 Echo Cross-Fire.

we use shakespeare ultra twist. they make it for other brands so about half of you have used it if it was twisted braided typw silent line. it is not desert extrusion twisted line. i like both. the ultra twist is .95 right now but plan on getting 105 next time we get a case. i love this line for everday trimming. it cuts so good and you get a boost in power and gas milage due to the aerodynamics of the line. it is twisted square line basically. the desert brand is rounded almost braided line that is aerodynamic too. it does not cut very clean, but this stuff is bulletproof. it can takea beating like chainlink fences and small saplings. the ultra will not do this well, it will snap. but that is why i am going back up to the 105 size . it lasts longer and better. ok, did that come out right, i am pretty tired and stuff.

The WALMART stuff sells out fast and is a seasonal item that they only get in 1 or 2 times a year so I buy 3-4 every spring it is the best stuff I have found with square Gator a close but more expensive second
