Too much truck unless it'll be a tow truck.

Too much truck...more like too much money...LOL. For the price of the truck alone, you could get a smaller truck and a trailer full of mowers...JMO.

(But it does look cool, huh).

That truck screams one of two things... "I have way too much money to know what to do with." or "I have way too much debt now so why not buy the biggest f'ing truck my credit will let me."

Nice Truck, Too much yes, but might be useful for pulling the ztr out of the ditch or pulling a 40ft trailer.

That's the bad part, it's so far up in the air you couldn't pull a 5th wheel/gooseneck. It would have to be bumper pull. Which would look kinda silly with that much truck, to me anyway.

With the price of diesel I think the timing on these trucks is a bit off they have just became popular just as fuel prices increased.

I personally like the International CXT...but it will be a long time before I have one!

Those are stupid, what can you tow with them? I mean it sits too high for a gooseneck trailer and bumper pull trailers are pointless on a truck that big, I would save money and get that truck without the semi wheels and pointless superduty bed. But thats just me

They do on the other hand get people looking and If I had the money to advertise that would be the truck to have a company name on it, for driving around.

Oh and those things are slow because they have the commercial engines in them. Those are built for longevity and not so much speed as a regular PU truck.

You went from "Those are stupid" TO "that would be the truck to have" ..
Just thought it was funny.

last time I checked the fastest legal speed in the usa was 75....

but keep in mind you'd be cutting 3-4 lawns just to pay for the fuel...:)

gotta remember the faster you go the more fuel you burn...if think its something like if you speed doubles, IE from 40-80, the wind resistance quadruples... ie its an exponential force, and not a linear force...

with rising fuel prices, a smaller more compact rig may be the "revolutionary" concept for the next few years in lawn care....

You are correct, after 60mph wind resistance becomes a problem.

MarcSmith
04-01-2008, 01:07 PM
wind resistances even below 60 is a issue.. from 10-20 wind resistance is still an exponential force. I can pick up 3mpg in my daily commutes when I keep the speedo at or below 60. but even one day running into the mid-upper 60's will keep me below 20 mpg for that tank of fuel...

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/330356/how_much_power_your_car_needs_at_65.html?image=126646

just think trucks are not exactly aerodynamic either. and pulling an open trailer...even worse..but thats a topic for another thread....

but this truck is the epitome of the US consumer...I want big i want fast. but be ready cause I'm gonna complain about how much fuel it uses...:)

The way i look at it is, if you spend 100k on a truck you don't need to begin with, theirs something drastically wrong with your thinking and budgeting if you can't afford the gas to put into it.

Unless of course you couldn't afford the truck to begin with :hammerhead:

Customers would LOVE to see that pull up in front of the house.... You'd stop mail service on the whole block for parking in front of the mailboxes.

somewhere in or around mechanicsburg pa i saw a 4 door dark blue truck like the ford, but it had a mason dump bed on it, and it was pulling an enclosed trailer with triple axles, and aluminum rims. the trailer had ladder racks, it appeared to be an awesome work set up, no suprise or that area, big bucks!

i drove a c5500 pick up with a goose neck and i think 45ft trailer from pa to pick up a couple classic cars at a dealer there it pulled great decent highway millage down and ok for pulling 3 chevelle"s in the back

The XUV has seating for up to 12, so you could carry a couple of crews with you.

Those trucks, the CXT, and other's like them are really cool, but such a waste of a truck. The huge floater tires belong on a concrete truck, not an SUV. If anyone could find a need for having a truck like that (which is doubtful), I'm sure something else would fill the bill, like a normal F650 or smaller Super Duty. If you really need 22.5" rubber, you need a Peterbilt, not a Ford. But, like I said, they are cool and I like to look at them.

the chevy that thing is more reasonable looking. Not all jacked up and pointless. Them fords scream "I'm hear and I'm queer". But hey thats just me what do I know I only tow trailers 5 days a week.

Which cost more...the truck or the trailer? Combined, you probably could buy a house!! I'll take the money they have in either one of them, though...:)

Or the C-7 Cat rated for 207-215hp. The intermediate Cat engines are becoming a joke though.
