I have one and it works good, but on taller Palms it's use is limited because if you are using a ladder you need a step Ladder. If you try and use an extension Ladder, it's hard to get the proper angle as you will be up against the Tree. But if you are trimming small Palms or Oak Trees, it works great.

Make sure to make funerals arrangements before getting on that ladder with the pruner in your hands. :nono:
Best way I found to trim palm trees is using the 15' pruner from Fiskars. The power pruner is way to hard to control and can do a lot of damage on near by limbs.
Just so you know, I also have the Echo Power Pruner for my PAS-265

I would think the PPT 230 would be a better choice, it costs more but has more uses since it can extend another 5' so ladder work would be less. The total extended length is 134".

Cheaper is not always the best way to go!!!!

just get the ppt260 and stop worrying about it. yes it costs twice as much but will do 10 times the work and will pay for itself in just a couple of jobs.

like mentioned above, pole pruners + ladders = trouble......

I trim mad palm trees for myself and other lawn companies in my area....
