Yes we all know gravel or a driveway is best :hammerhead:

. . . but I need to select a turf that is durable, dense once established, and most of all that will not be "completely" destroyed during the spring and winter wet season and will throw down deep roots. Fast establishment will help but long term toughness is key.

I'm thinking Tall Fescue - any better ones to select?

I'm bidding on Flo's lot this weekend . . . here's a picture.

She needs turf that will stand up to her extended driveway.

Put down the plastic square things (I forget what they are called) They support the weight of the car and the grass grows through. Otherwise grass growing in between bits of flagstone works well too.
If you find a grass that stands upto vehicle traffic on it own, let us all know :)

k-31 mized with about 10-20% really hardy bluegrass to help fill in. we have many areas like this and they stand up remarkably well

They also make a concrete product that works like the plastic stuff you are talking about...I hope I never have to aerate a lawn with one of those two!!
